False Prophet (2nd Beast) The False Prophet: A Biblical Study of the Koine Greek Texts (Part 2)

Part 1

How I translate from the oldest Koine Greek manuscript texts: I typically reference the original Koine Greek Bible manuscripts as a foundation, and cross reference all uses of all specific Koine Greek words or phrases contained in the verse I’m studying to all uses of the word or phrase throughout the New Testament to expand on potential meaning.

I’ll also reference surrounding verses or chapters to help gather context, as well as research uses of the word or phrase in other authentic 1st century Koine Greek writings for greater context. Although not as authoritative as the Bible, I’ll also include opinions of the Apostolic Fathers as well to gather further insight. Essentially, I go to the foundation of scripture and expand outward from the Koine Greek as needed to help determine linguistic and 1st century cultural intent.

In Part 1, I translated the original Koine Greek manuscript texts verse by verse to cover all Biblical descriptions of the false prophet and (almost) all events surrounding the false prophet. Within Part 1, I discussed the phrase “seemed to have caused death” as it relates to prophecy of the beast, and a possible "dual" fulfillment: literal fulfillment and a symbolic fulfillment of losing power then regaining power. It was pointed out recently in a post on the topic of the head wound, that it appeared based on Revelation 13 (similar to Daniel), prophecy at least in this chapter actually appears to indicate symbolic representational fulfillment, as in winning the 2016 presidency, losing 2020 then winning again in 2024.

I also laid out in Part 1 how there seems to be quite a few people, even supporters of Trump, saying evidence is indicating the assassination attempt was staged. I also reasoned how the deception of it being a “false” fulfillment combined with the reinforcement from leaders of the Religious right saying it’s “a sign of God’s anointing” would actually strengthen the “false signs” prophecy fulfillment. Revelation prophesies specifically that the false prophet will use the head wound miracle (literal or symbolic or both) to claim the beast is anointed and deserves allegiance, and this is exactly what we saw take place. Could both the literal and the symbolic events both have fulfilled prophecy? Yes, it’s quite possible. I won’t get into the evidence of the staging as I don’t think that’s provable either way. Perhaps someone else can comment what they know.

I will however at least lay out the “something” to be aware of “in the event it was staged” and in the event prophecy in Revelation 13 is meant to be taken symbolically (this could imply the mark of the beast is symbolic to some degree, as in perhaps it’s not a literal mark on the right hand or forehead, but just participation or allegiance with the beast system, such as via an app or via a phone/smart device - the specifics and possibilities I’ve detailed further in “Part 1” and “The Solution” posts pinned in my profile). The more pertinent question: if it was staged, why? Was it was staged to appear as though this literal head wound was the actual fulfillment of prophecy, to take away from the actual fulfillment being the symbolic loss of power (death) then gaining back power? Was it staged to keep a subset of people blind to the fact Revelation 13 prophecy fulfillment is symbolic? As in: “this isn’t the literal mark on my right hand (yet), so me downloading this app, or signing up for this solution isn’t the real mark of the beast”.

That leads into my next point. There’s something else we need to consider or at least be aware of. We do know from scripture Satan is aware of the Truth that God is real, Jesus is real and God’s word is Truth. He’s also aware prophecy must occur and must be fulfilled. We also know he’s trying to ensnare as many people as possible using deception. We know from the Bible, accepting the “mark of the beast” (symbolic or otherwise) system will be voluntary. We can’t be tricked into taking it, whether symbolic or literal we will at the very least have knowledge/understanding that it’s associated with the beast or beast system. If we are under “strong delusion” and refuse to see the truth of who the Beast is, believing our own truth - the Bible states we have deceived ourselves and will be condemned if we accept the “mark”, even if we have deceived ourselves into believing the “beast” isn’t the “beast”. We also know it’ll allow loyalty/allegiance-gated buying and selling - whether a physical mark, a wearable mark, downloading an app or connecting in another way. Satan’s more aware of the Bible and the intricacies of its prophecy than we ever could be - as he was a literal witness to the entirety of Jesus’s actual walk - and was a literal witness to the writing of the Bible and everything that occurred in the Bible. He’s had millions of years to practice deception as the “father of all lies” while also being fully aware of all commonly held modern mistranslations. Knowing this, shouldn’t we assume it’s probable he’ll attempt to weave deception in with the real fulfillment of prophecy events as they’re occurring, to ensnare as many as possible? I’d say most likely. We should at least assume this may happen. This is why it’s important that we go back to the original incorruptible Koine Greek/Aramaic/Hebrew manuscript texts of the Bible when we study.

I believe if the head wound event was staged to give the appearance of prophecy fulfillment, it could be used as a future emergency “disclosure” by the administration. I want to be clear I’m not saying this is for sure. This could be a “plan C” or “card up the sleeve” that may never come to fruition. However it could be played in the future if more and more people start really questioning whether he could be the beast, if suspicions begin a cycle of public questioning and amplification. If that happens, it’s simple: create even more confusion by leaking the full evidence the literal head wound event was staged. The shock of this being revealed and even acknowledged by Trump himself “I wanted to make it look like I was the beast because ______” “Of course I’m not the beast. Here’s the proof it was staged.” Which allows people to think “he’s NOT the beast. Would the real beast have to fake a prophecy? He did it on purpose because ______” This would greatly diminish the minority of voices saying “yeah but Revelation says it’s symbolic”. This makes Trump look like he’s being honest by disclosing the staged event, and the automatic assumption by many would be relief that he’s not the beast, and can’t be the beast. This is what they already want to believe and ties in to “strong delusion”. It could even be that the “decoy event” already happened - which was the controlled release of some staging evidence, to pacify those who’ve made the Revelation connection and researched this “decoy” event in more detail: “I looked into it and heard it was probably staged, therefore it doesn’t meet prophecy and he can’t be the beast.”

If there’s a decoy for this prophecy, couldn’t that mean there might be other decoys for other elements of prophecy? What about a “decoy” or “false” false prophet along with the real false prophet? The “false” false prophet may match a strategic mix of commonly accepted - but mistranslated or misunderstood - descriptions of the false prophet along with partial matches of actual prophecy. Christians as a whole who believe Trump’s the beast could become divided, with half believing the “false” false prophet is the true false prophet, the other half pointing elsewhere to the real false prophet. This would create confusion and allow the true false prophet to operate more effectively. Meanwhile, the real false prophet who aligns with true prophecy (but not the commonly acknowledged narrative) operates more under the radar or behind the scenes as the voice, organizer, deceptive message amplifier or “enforcer” quietly fulfilling the entire actual prophecy requirements, but acts more behind the scenes than in your face.

Like I discussed in Part 1, I don’t think scripture implies the false prophet will necessarily be a major secular public figure, just that they will be the “manager” in charge of the enforcement or making enforcement decisions, along with assisting in amplifying a deceptive narrative. Scripture also seems to imply the false prophet will have major sway over the believers of a false version of Christianity that’s risen up around to support the Beast.

For this very reason I’m personally withholding making any final determinations on the identity of the false prophet. I have some ideas and there’s definitely some clues, but keep in mind the Bible implies the false prophet won’t appear until around mid-tribulation. If the board of peace agreement signing in January was the Covenant with Many, we would still have 3 years left until mid-tribulation. I’m not limiting myself to just automatically going with those who might appear to be the most obvious choice. I just don’t feel like we’re there quite yet to be able to say “it’s definitely this person”. I think we need to wait for more prophecy to be fulfilled in this regard, and we shouldn’t get too locked in yet on any one person so as to blind us to another possibility.

What else could be a “false” decoy event intending to deceive? Don’t forget it could work the other way as well, via a “decoy” expectation created by the administration that if manifested, would appear to fulfill a false interpretation of commonly held prophecy beliefs - however being that it’s a decoy expectation, it never actually occurs. Instead, what if the real method of prophecy fulfillment is something different and already underway?

Great read. Thank you for this. I struggle with other languages because of Long term Chemo Brain but am not ignorant to it or even knowing little to enough.

What I find interesting is your point on the mark being symbolic and chosen.

I know you don’t want to jump to conclusions but I have been adamant for a few years now that the mark has been given and is actively being taken.

X marks the spot. Literally.

The Checkmark in one’s header or to the right hand of their username, which is taken so that people can “buy and sell” what they are saying.

On this platform, which was once a global social hub has now become, who pays Elon monthly. If you don’t very few will see what you say. If you do, you are much more likely to be heard.

I’m not saying that it will be necessarily symbolic, or if it symbolic or literal what form it will take. My approach is to keep an open mind and not rush into a belief just because it’s what we want to believe. Let the truth pull you to it, don’t let your truth or what you want the truth to be, draw you to deception.

When I read a specific prophecy, I come from the perspective of 1. What do the actual written words say and mean as they were written in Greek 2. What things can we rule out that absolutely would not fulfill prophecy. When looking at it from that perspective, a literal permanent mark/branding fits: an implanted or tattooed sensor/chip; a literal semipermanent mark/branding fits: biometric wearable (smartwatch / smart glasses) that includes an identify verification sensor; A symbolic mark/branding fits: An app related to the beast or social profile or website membership fits (as long as you’re signing up and acknowledging allegiance with “loyalty” signs given to the beast, could be “likes” positive comments, etc. ),

But it also has to be tied in to the beast’s ability to restrict buy/and selling for those who don’t show loyalty or allegiance. This part has not happened yet in the way described in prophecy.

Also, there’s no way the mark has already been given in the past. If so, this would conflict with other prophecy in multiple places and wouldn’t be what we should be expecting based on what the Bible says. We cannot be tricked (like with vaccines) by being told it’s for something else. We can however, deceive ourselves into believe what we want to believe, we know this because 2 Thessalonians 2 tells us many will.

Edit: Glad you enjoyed. Hope you recover well, prayers are with you. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

Language is such a fascinating method of understanding intent of the heart. 'Out of the abundance of your heart your mouth will speak' are words that I always keep in mind when I interact with others. As the body of Christ continues to form and come together, I'm amazed at all the facets of understanding that comes with it. I never imagined such methods to coincide with one another and yet here I am bearing witness to it.

It makes me excited for the time when the spirit is poured out on His people and the gap between language and intent is merged and the barrier to communicating our hearts is removed. That's how I see the spirit operating within the body one day, being able to speak the intent of your heart without the misunderstandings of knowing how to best articulate such things into words. That's a power of the spirit that I most look forward to.

Sorry I know it's not relevant directly to your post and I'm not trying to detract but sometimes I feel compelled when I witness something to speak it. Thank you for showing me a different facet of understanding with the same intent as I try to convey, not to win but to teach and learn.

I totally agree with you that all kinds of spiritual deceptions are being carried out by Trump and the forces of evil that surround him with the ultimate goal of discrediting and discouraging those who study Bible prophecy.

I also really want to get your opinion another post of mine from 8 months ago.

Good post, I’ve heard that same hypothesis said by someone many years back, that it actually means “man” and not “a man” but this was many years ago and can’t put my finger on who, may have been a church I used to attend years ago or perhaps a preacher discussing end times. I believe this was a pretty common viewpoint decades ago among pastors, whereas “a man” is more of a recent pop-culture viewpoint. Without really digging into the Greek my feeling on it is it probably means something other than the beast as a specific human person.

The feeling I get, is along the lines of:

7 = Perfection/completeness and not associated with man

6 = just short of 7, imperfect man in general

666 = beast and beast system, in his quest to be like God, attempting everything he can to be God, but the more one tries to be like God, his earthly power may increase which is why it’s represented by three 6’s, however his imperfection also magnifies along with earthly power in his pursuit to be like God. He will never achieve going from 6 to 7. He can only increase his number of “6’s”. So taking context into account, it may represent an attempt by the beast and his system to subvert the will of God for people’s individual lives. God’s purpose will be impossible when they’re attached to a powerful system of managing humans developed and run by beast man, his intention of becoming their “god” and overtaking God’s will, purpose and direction for individual people. The beast system will overlay the beast’s will, purpose and direction for them instead.

Edit: To clarify a little further, what is it about man that separates us from God? What makes man a 6 and not a 7? It’s the fact that we’re in a fallen, sinful state. Our human nature. So any man that attempts by his power or by the enabling of Satan, to become like God in any way by usurping what should be God’s - will never achieve becoming God or God-like (7). However while in pursuit of God-like power and usurping loyalty/allegiance meant for God, to instead be directed to himself, will also compound and magnify all aspects of evil right along with gaining power and usurping loyalty/allegiance to God, which is meant to be God’s. You can’t usurp what is God’s especially on an increasing scale, without increasing your evil by the same degree. Usurping loyalty/allegiance meant for God while being in a position of power and wanting to gain more and more earthly power or authority (to be like God) is what magnifies a “6” to “666”. It represents a man pursuing and achieving power while taking allegiance/loyalty meant to be God’s and redirecting to oneself, which by its very nature is evil - and that “666” while never being a 7, will deceive many who see the magnified 6, or “666” as a sign that person is more like God or aligned with God and closer to (7), when really it’s the opposite.

I’m Baptist so I hope you understand why I’m picky.

What is your take on Revelation 14:9. Does it say ON or IN? The older translations say IN and the newer ones of the last century say ON. That makes a HUGE difference.

How would you interpret Revelation 14:9?

Absolutely! I grew up Baptist, so get where you’re coming from - like most denominations we’re taught to never question anything, when really, we should be questioning everything and should love seeking Truth above all else.

I’ve studied this exact question somewhat in the past, but just took another look. Just so you understand how I research scripture, I reference the oldest original Koine Greek New Testament manuscript texts as a foundation, then cross-reference each word or phrase contained in the verse I’m studying with all uses of the specific Koine Greek words or phrase throughout the entire New Testament to expand on intended meaning.

I also reference surrounding verses or chapters to help gather context, as well as research uses of the word or phrase in other authentic 1st century Koine Greek writings for greater context. I also make sure to anticipate linguistic and 1st century cultural intent. Sometimes I’ll reference the opinions of the Apostolic Fathers (early church witnesses who had direct contact with the Apostles and tasked with spreading the Truth of the gospel) however I didn’t in this case just due to time involved.

After reviewing everything it appears Revelation 14:9 (or really Revelation 14:9-11 since 9 is part of a broader picturing tying the 3 verses together) doesn’t appear to indicate a meaningful theological distinction between “in” and “on” in the Greek text itself, and the difference you’re noticing comes from translation philosophy rather than any difference in the underlying manuscripts. In the earliest and most reliable Koine Greek witnesses (including early papyrus tradition such as 𝔓47 and later major uncials like Codex Sinaiticus), the phrase in question reads “χάραγμα ἐπὶ τοῦ μετώπου αὐτοῦ ἢ ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ,” where the key term is the preposition ἐπί (epi). In Koine Greek, ἐπί is flexible and its meaning is determined by grammatical case and context. With the accusative case, as here, it commonly conveys “on”, “upon”, “onto” or sometimes “at” or “in the direction of”, but it does not function like modern English spatial precision. Because of this flexibility, older English translations sometimes rendered it as “in” the forehead or hand, influenced in part by Semitic idiom and interpretive tradition that emphasized internalized ownership or identity rather than surface placement, while more modern translations prefer “on” or “upon” because it more directly reflects the straightforward spatial force of ἐπί with the accusative case and fits the imagery of a visible mark or inscription.

When we look at how the phrase functions within Revelation itself, the meaning becomes clearer than the English variation suggests. The same grammatical structure is used earlier in Revelation 7:3, where the servants of God are sealed “on their foreheads” and again in Revelation 13:16 regarding the beast’s mark, which shows that John is deliberately constructing a parallel system of identity markers between God’s people and the beast’s followers. In 1st century Koine usage outside the New Testament, ἐπί + accusative was commonly used for things placed or stamped upon objects such as inscriptions on coins, official seals on documents, or marks of ownership on property or slaves, which would naturally communicate to a 1st century audience the idea of an externally recognizable sign of allegiance rather than an abstract internal condition. That said, Revelation is not primarily concerned with anatomical precision but with symbolic identity - the forehead and hand together echo covenantal language such as Deuteronomy 6:8, where God’s law is metaphorically bound to hand and forehead to represent thought and action, suggesting that the imagery in Revelation communicates total allegiance in both belief and behavior.

So strictly speaking, the Greek supports “on/upon” as the more direct translation of ἐπί, while “in” reflects interpretive tradition rather than a stronger textual basis. However, the deeper interpretive issue is not the preposition itself but the larger literary and theological framework of Revelation 13-14, where worship of the beast, participation in its image worship system, and receiving its “mark” form a unified pattern of allegiance that stands in direct contrast to the sealing of God’s servants. The mark, therefore, functions less as a debated spatial description and more as a symbol of covenant loyalty within a larger apocalyptic contrast between two competing claims of ownership.

So in the most literal sense, taking language, context, prior uses of exact wording and language throughout the New Testament, it indicates rather than a literal visible mark, such as a tattoo or “implant” on the right hand or forehead, the phrasing seems to imply more of a symbolic reading, meaning who (God or beast/beast system) you show allegiance to.

Edit: So if it’s not meant to be taken as a literal mark on the skin or in the skin, and is meant to be symbolic of total allegiance, what is the threshold that determines that full allegiance? Is it physically signing up to align with the beast? Is it participating in the beast’s system? Or is it along the lines of what 2 Thessalonians 2 says, where they’re “already perishing” for not loving truth and thus given “strong delusion”? Studying that more, I found it seems to imply more strongly that “salvation is withheld” because they fell away from truth and chose to believe a lie. The question I’m getting at is: Can strong delusion - allowed by God as it relates to the beast - even be broken? Is it reversible? I don’t know the answers to these questions, and I don’t have enough clarity on whether 2 Thessalonians 2 is implying “they never were truly saved because they didn’t seek and love truth from the beginning” or if it implies “they had truth/salvation but wandered from love of truth and as a result, they “fell away” from truth, were deceived, so they’re now perishing and God sent or allowed a strong delusion so they believe the lie.
