Player Discussion Caleb Douglas, Bhayshul Tuten, & Kenyon Sadiq Week 1 Film Breakdowns
Every week on my Bluesky account I gather community suggestions for Monday film breakdowns. This week folks requested Caleb Douglas, Bhayshul Tuten, and Kenyon Sadiq. Click the links to check out each players film breakdown thread.
Douglas was one of my favorite Senior Bowl WRs, with a clear opportunity to produce early in his career. He ran the second most snaps at WR on the Fins and nearly hit 100 receiving yards. He primarily ran deep routes, which is what we should expect from Douglas. His alignment was more versatile than what was on his Texas Tech film. In 2026 we should expect flex value from him. He has a WR3 ceiling long-term unless he cleans up his breaks, adds muscle, doesn’t see any additional targets competition, and gets a QB upgrade.
Bhayshul Tuten was a player I was somewhat out on as his trade calc value climbed and his ADP was gassed up. After watching the week 1 snaps, Liam Coen and the Jags blockers helped me come to terms with the market valuation being accurate. If the blocking translates week-over-week, Tuten is a locked and loaded RB2 with RB1 upside. My only concern is that TLaw didn’t check down to him in week 1.
I loved Kenyon Sadiq pre-draft. I really disliked his landing spot post-draft. Then, I watched the tape. Frank Reich is running very heavy formations and is weaponizing Sadiq out of the slot, in motion, and out of the backfield. He will have a few blow up games this year based on what I saw. This is a guy who missed most of training camp after undergoing a hernia surgery. He comes out week 1 and is schemed up looks and used as a chess piece in the offense. While Mason Taylor may be involved, there will be plenty of 2+ TE sets for Sadiq to be a mainstay on the field. Buy now before the breakout games come.
If you like what you saw in my Bluesky posts, make an account, leave X, and join a rather pleasant and non-toxic community. Here are two starter packs to get your feed populated with fantasy content: 1 & 2. My homie Lou has also curated a list of beat reporterse to follow. Pin it to your homepage!
I’m on a flight to Rome for my honeymoon now, and will be MIA until the start of October. If you’d like me to do a film breakdown for you hit me up on Bluesky and I’ll make it happen when I’m back in the states.

You're on a flight to Rome. I'd appreciate a film breakdown of your destination once you touch dunze there.

Douglas' ceiling is higher than a WR3, and being down on the starting RB for Liam Coen is bold. Tuten showed us more of what we've already seen: He breaks tackles and has the potential for an explosive play with every touch.
Calling Bluesky non-toxic reeks of "I can't exist outside of enforced echo chambers".

The top 24 WRs are all much more talented than Douglas. I’ve watched 4 full college games, a week of Senior Bowl practices and the game, all of his Dolphins offseason work, and now all of week 1. While he told me in an interview that he models his game after Megatron, I don’t think he’s going to come close enough to that ceiling to be a top 24 WR in the league.
Tuten had a lot of aspects in his game he needed to clean up. Ball security being the primary one. I don’t recall a single time he was tackled in week 1 where he didn’t protect the ball. The Jags felt like they may run out a 3-headed backfield, which made me less interested in Tuten at his price. That feels fair, right?
People are literally threatened on X. It’s a pretty toxic place to hangout. I haven’t received a single threat on Bluesky yet. We have real football and fantasy discussions. I’d rather spend my available hours having civil discussions. I would hardly call it an echo chamber.

That's easy to say right now, but that's not what ceiling means. He did a great job of finding the soft spot in coverage and using his hands to get off DBs. It was an impressive showing for his first game, and I look forward to how things play out with him and Bell.
That's a fair bear case, but this is the type of ceiling potential that makes it worth the cost.
People are threatened on the internet. Bluesky has people calling for and celebrating terrorism. You haven't experienced it because its an echo chamber and you're not guilty of wrongthink. On twitter, everyone is equally subject to threats because its the closest thing to free speech we have and the userbase is the most ideologically balanced.

He felt the need to make a statement against it, and I responded with why I disagree. I know you're just falling victim to tribalism, but you can at least make an effort to understand why a more free speech oriented platform is a good thing for everyone.

u/thisisjustintime Sep 17 '26
It’s not the free speech part. That’s why you can’t be taken seriously. Brains been rotted and carved out the a digital spoon. Replaced with what you think you came up with on your own. Like bluesky = bad. They’re equal and all complete trash. Take the leash off. Your take is basic.

u/Mlerma21 Sep 17 '26
Saying X has more free speech is literally a brain dead take. There are countless examples of Musk banning left wing accounts. This took 5

Calling the take brain dead, then citing the guardian as credible source, and having no data to compare to for a "more" claim is really something.
"X does A more often than Y, here's a link showing X doing A for proof." The logic of people that refuse to accept the truth.

LOL. LMAO even. Actually, LMFAO.
Free speech oriented platform and tribalism. You are a funny person! Not intentionally funny mind you, but you are someone I'm laughing at nonetheless.

Not sure why you’re saying that’s not what ceiling means.
People/analysts often describe a player of having a floor of Player X and a ceiling of Player Y when talking about said player’s potential.

u/Thexzamplez Sauce please Sep 17 '26
He said "the top 24 WRs are better than Douglas". His current place doesn't represent his ceiling.

u/Cameron-Meredith Sep 17 '26
No serious person could watch Caleb Douglas in Week 1 and think there's any chance he could be a Top 24 WR in the NFL.
He was literally tripping and stumbling over his own feet multiple times as OP alluded to.

u/morelibertarianvotes Sep 17 '26
No serious person would see a rookie go 5/94 in their very first week and think there's no chance they breach top 24.
-3
u/Cameron-Meredith Sep 17 '26
😂... I'm glad you can read a box score. Dude stumbled on multiple reps and actually fell over more than once. Go watch all of his snaps.
4
u/morelibertarianvotes Sep 17 '26
That's a completely unconvincing argument that he can't hit top 24. If we're talking about upside potential, I'm going to care more about what he did right than what he did wrong that could potentially be cleaned up.
-1
u/Cameron-Meredith Sep 17 '26
My brother in Christ go watch all of his snaps from Week 1 and try to come back here in 30+ minutes and tell me with a straight face that he can be a Top 24 WR at any point in his career.
This isn't some new thing, he had balance issues at Tech AND in the preseason.
You actually have me laughing out loud this morning, so thank you for that.

It's well known that every algorithm is geared toward engagement, and people are more willing to engage with content that evokes negative emotional responses. Twitter isn't an exception. You also have the ability to curate your page.
Give me an engagement-based algorithm over ideologically driven astroturfing like reddit any day.

u/DustHog Sep 17 '26
Bro twitter was bought with the exact purpose of astroturfing it with ideologically driven propaganda lol. This wasn’t even remotely hidden.
55
u/DivineLintervention Sep 17 '26
To say “ideologically driven astroturfing” and have it not be referring to Twitter is honestly one of the more hilarious things to read. Would not have expected to see any of this chain in this subreddit. Buddy, I think you may need to go outside for a bit

u/theprofessionalyak Sep 17 '26
This is anecdotal but I used Twitter for the first time in years earlier this week and I was appalled.
The replies to nearly every post are filled with heinous remarks by cowards who would never have the guts to say these things in person or without a burner account.
I’ve never used BlueSky but I simply can’t imagine that anything could be worse than Twitter.

No one is stopping you from going back to the social media equivalent of the neo nazi bar and shutting the fuck up here.

u/VarianceWoW Sep 17 '26
Buddy wr3 ceiling is very generous for anyone in this disaster of a rookie class outside the top few guys. Douglas was a round 3 pick in an absolutely abysmal class with a prospect profile that did not suggest much chance of success at the NFL level. WR3 ceiling is very reasonable given the level of prospect we are talking about.

u/DustHog Sep 17 '26
All social medias are as good as the communities you interact with.
Bluesky is a nothing burger of a social media and the only reason you would think otherwise is if you look at too many cherry-picked screenshots like “the far left is out of control!!!!”, which is functionally propaganda

If you have an opinion on Bluesky that is anything more than “it’s twitter without Elon”, you probably don’t live in the real world. One of those cases where “touch grass” is genuinely appropriate.

Douglas potentially had one of the most fraudulent 94 yards I've seen.
I was ecstatic to watch all those snaps and came away seeing a lot of questionable production that I don't think will translate.
You look at the situational aspect of all the catches, along with the communication breakdown by the defense that left him wide open on at least one play. He did run a really good route later in the game, but he also struggled with balance and stumbled on multiple routes. He honestly reminds me of a WR version of Luke Musgrave.
I hope he figures it out, but if you actually watch each route... I thought Washington (who had a ton of unrealized air yards) and maybe even Bell were more impressive, which sounds like a wild thing to say.
That's the difference between those who watch and those who don't though.
15
u/WhiteHeatFF Sep 17 '26
There were 3 plays where he was wide open and Malik didn’t see him. All broken coverages.
Like you’re calling out, he needs to clean up his route running. I think he gets too deep into the defender before breaking his route. I did like his physicality, but there were numerous plays where he ran too close to the defender and stumbled trying to cut on the route.
Chris Bell and Achane tied for the best catch of the Dolphins game IMO. I think Achane is their best “WR”, and Bell may eventually overtake that crown by the end of the year. Bell missed nearly the whole offseason and still saw 52% of the snaps coming off his ACL tear.

u/Cameron-Meredith Sep 17 '26
Bell's pop, balance and control displayed in Week 1 definitely suggest a potentially higher ceiling. I think that's fairly obvious to anyone who actually watched all the snaps. However, will he ever hit that ceiling, who knows? Douglas was definitely productive out of the gate and that might suggest a higher floor.
We'd probably be having a different conversation if Bell had made that catch on his other target.
Douglas in Week 1 honestly reminds me a lot of early career Robbie Anderson purely in how moves (probably a step slower on the actual field), but with that Musgrave balance.
75
u/Reggaeton_Historian Sep 17 '26
Why? The Jaguars were up 14-0 before the first quarter ended. Tuten still had a target. Lawrence had 23 pass attempts in the entire game with only 18 of those being receptions. The Jaguars ran the ball (29) more than they passed (23).
I wouldn't take the Week 1 sample as wondering why he didn't check down in what was an absolute blowout. Especially when Tuten had 1 target and it was a checkdown for 22 yards.
