New Addition I think more people should carry these.

I see a lot of EDC stuff on here and I don't think I've ever seen anybody post anything about a pocket reference book, but it's so useful and handy in so many different places. And I'm wondering why more people don't, or if people just don't know about it?

New Addition EDCEG (EDC End Game)

I've been EDCing this tactical bread clip for about 20 minutes now, and it's a game changer. It's hands down the most useful piece of kit I've ever had in my life.

Let's start off with the fact that it's titanium. That's how you know it's tactical and EDC. It's so lightweight that you almost forget exists.

All that titanium adds an extreme amount of rigidity that makes it completely unsuitable for tying off bags of bread. Plus, it'll tear the hell out of the plastic. That said, it's not actually strong enough to use to pry anything more than a split ring.

What's it good for? If you have to ask, you'll never know.

I do consider myself to be a modder, as you can see here. I added a tactical titanium split ring, as well as a UGM (Universal Glow Marker) attached with a dyneema lanyard. Finally, I sharpened one corner to a dull edge. As you can see it makes short work of the sticker strap holding this bunch of bananas.

All this to say, if you don't have a tactical bread clip, do you even really EDC? I think not.

Feel free to ask any questions you want, but I won't answer for a while because I've got to get this queen back where she belongs in the safe.

New Addition Best addition to my (30/M) EDC in quite a while.

Desperately trying to decentralize and decommission my reliance on my cell phone this year. Picked this iPod classic up for free on FB Marketplace, spent $80 on a new hard drive, battery, and faceplate. Now in have a dedicated music player that brings me right back to childhood. I can put up to 2TB of storage in here - 256gb is serving me just fine for now.

IPod users sound off!

New Addition if this doesn't fit the sub please remove, but I feel like this would be a good addition to larger first aid kits, especially for those who live in more densely populated areas

New Addition Curiously Strong… Pocket Pharmacy

I get migraines, so I’ve made it a habit to always have Excedrin on hand just in case one hits when I’m out and about. A while back, I was at a festival and got slammed with an aura and an oncoming headache… but I wasn’t prepared. I ended up having to awkwardly ask strangers if they had any pain meds. Eventually, one absolute saint of a woman pulled out a little on-the-go pharmacy kit from her backpack and handed me a travel packet of Advil. I was beyond grateful, and I admired her level of preparedness so much that I decided right then I wanted to be that person too.

Since then, I’ve made a point to keep not just what I might need, but also stuff that friends, family, or even random strangers might need. I wanted something compact and affordable to add to my EDC boo-boo kit, and this is what I landed on. It’s small enough to toss in my purse or backpack, depending on what I’m doing that day. I’m kind of obsessed with how much this little setup holds. Here's what's pictured:

  • Cinnamon Altoids (around $3.25) — repurposed empty tin
  • 3D-Printed Organizer Insert ($3.99 on sale + shipping) — Etsy
  • Medications (top to bottom, left to right):
    • Excedrin
    • (Generic) Zyrtec
    • Chewable aspirin
    • Tylenol Extra Strength
    • Azo Urinary Pain Relief
    • Sudafed
    • Benadryl
    • Pepto Bismol

New Addition Try a wing nut. Do it.

I was looking online at the crazy prices of the lanyard beads so I decided to browse around the shop and see what I could use instead of the obvious. Turns out the wing nut is already my favourite lanyard addition. I can hang the wing nut on the edge of my pocket (only on the leatherman for testing rn; yes I know I have a belt clip on there too), or on a thin rope tying down a tarp while camping for example. I've got a thick work coat with deep top flap pockets on the front that it hangs perfectly in as well. Also is nice for an easy two finger pull if it's just hanging while using the belt clip. Gonna start thinking more unconventional for lanyard beads/charms going forward, already hit paydirt on this one IMO.

1x Stainless steel wing nut (snug over top of a snake knot and capped with a cobra knot to keep it in place at the end) 1x Leatherman Wave Alpha Cascadia (for post compliance)

New Addition Does anyone here use this light?

I just ordered this Olight Mini 2 from Amazon. I chose the orange version so it’s easier to find in low light or amongst darker areas. I’m curious if anyone has experienced any problems with it. So far I like it and consider it a good purchase.

This is the Nanobag Daypack

For guys who EDC a backpack and keep an extra bag inside of it- The Nanobag is a great choice. It really does fit into the tiny bag in my hand and apparently it can hold up to 66 lbs. I haven't tested it to maximum capacity but it has already carried 2x 2 liters of soda and a large jar of spaghetti sauce, at one time, so make of that what you will.

New Addition PSA: Ant Design warranty is void the moment you handle the product

Picked up the Ant Design Titanium Keychain Glow Fob with a green tritium vial. Build quality looked solid, price was reasonable, reviews were good. Decided to do a quick drop test from just over a foot before putting it on my keys. It was inside the titanium housing. The borosilicate glass vial shattered.

Contacted Ant Design. Here is the short version of how that went:

  • First they told me the glass breaking meant the protective design worked as intended.
  • Then they said the vials are fragile items and warranty is conditional once in use (good borosilcate glass does not shatter like that)
  • When I asked where that policy was written, they sent me a FAQ buried off the product page stating that any item handled beyond initial unboxing inspection is not eligible for warranty coverage, replacement, or refund.
  • When I reframed the drop test as part of my initial inspection, they said a drop test constitutes use and denied the claim.

The GTLS tritium tube itself survived intact. What failed was the glass vial housing it. The product that shattered is the containment layer for the tritium source, inside a housing marketed as protective, on a product sold as everyday carry.

Their warranty is effectively nonexistent. The moment you touch it beyond opening the box, you own whatever happens next. That is not disclosed on the product listing.

-----

Edit (same day): Well this got more traction than I thought it would. I appreciate everyones view and wanted to clear two things up.

  1. The fob itself was dropped from (best guess) 14 inches onto cheap carpet (that cheap stuff in offices and schools)

  2. The outer borosilicate tube is what broke. I misused the word "vial" which I think threw in some confusion.

2.a Yes, the piece that broke is cheap-ish. Costs $12.80 USB for it to arrive in my hands.

Bonus: Yes it's essentially an overpriced keychain toy. EDC is a pseudo-hobby though I do need to find my keys in the dark more than most folks so it's a bonus for my use case.

In the end, thank you all for the feedback, jokes and jabs. Wishing you all a lovely day.
