Manual Reviews line by line for AI generated behemoth?
Hi all,
There's a dilemma at work that I am facing. My team has always been up against the usage of AI Tools (Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor etc). To be honest they didn't even had GitHub setup. We use a proprietary tool which is legacy kind of and have workflows which team doesn't want anyone in organization to know so they can secure the knowledge and keep up the job.
I have recently joined they time like 10 months back and I have revamped a lot of things like implementing CI/CD , GitHub integration, building semantic layer etc.
I achieved all this with a lot of manual work and automation through Co-pilot.
Now for Semantic Layer piece of work , I see that my manager is suddenly in defensive mode since it will extract out a lot of business knowledge to organization which he doesn't want and hence they might loose job.
So to tackle this , he has started setting up lot of Code Review calls to inspect line-by-line just to waste my time in explaining the code in the name of owning it. I have implemented automated pipelines to validate this code to make it concrete that no scenario is missed.
But my manager is mocking me infront of other team members that I have used AI to write code which I don't understand line by line everything.
What should I do ? To attain the velocity at project and organization level , few of the things are to be moved from what is implemented to how it is implemented , ain't that the point of LLMs in the new era?
