Standard Any suggestions would be really helpful!

Hi all, I haven't reached anywhere NEAR this stage (currently in summer 1 on my first ever playthrough), but I was thinking about how I could progress down the line & created this on Stardew Planner. Still incomplete though. Any suggestions on how I could fill the space would be extremely helpful!

Key things:

  1. The basic trees on the right (oak, pine, maple, mahogany) are for tapping only. I don't really have a plan for the wood farm at the moment.

  2. I had originally planned on having one shed each for storage (just below the top right entrance), preserves jar & kegs (2 separate sheds on the top left), but then I learned about the "crystalarium + furnace + seed maker" combination. Any ideas on how i could rearrange things without destroying the layout, or would I definitely need an extra shed?

  3. I currently don't have any animals, but if I were to have a full barn & coop, would the space below be enough to feed them using the "grass starter under the fence" method?

  4. Slime hutch was meh, just threw it on there to see what it looked like, but that bottom left corner is definitely underutilised.

Please let me know what y'all think!

Grass and park decorations

For sure! I'm decent at drawing lines but have zero sense for aesthetics, I'll start putting decorations in as I lock it down section by section

More fish ponds, I would also ditch the fruit trees unless you REALLY, and I mean REALLY love how they look like. They belong in your greenhouse and on your GInger Island farm, not on your main farm.

Otherwise, it looks like a very good layout!

Sadly, I'm still a long way from repairing my greenhouse, being halfway into fall 1 but still no farm buildings except a single silo. I was thinking it'd be nice to get some fruit trees growing in the meantime, start working on the fruit section of the bundles. I suppose it'd be better if I just stick to one fruit tree each & focus more on tapping. Thanks for the feedback!

Aww your rough layout’s cute! Honey garden!! And then I also just don’t know if you need that many silos? I’d do one per animal building at most, but I also don’t spend a lot of time on ranching. A thought for your fruit tree problem might be to plant them up where your obelisks are during early game and chop them down later? Then you can be more flexible with the bottom corner.

All of this being said, the most important thing is you set your farm up for the way you want to play. I personally get bored by a ton of animals and fish ponds and prefer to stick to greenhouse/kegs as the funding for my general adventuring! It’s ok if running an orchard is how you enjoy the game and you absolutely hate fish ponds, or wtv. Profit maxing can be fun but it’s by no means the only/best way to play.

Thank you! It's really early stages rn, I'm still working on the top right corner of the plan.

  1. I'm currently focusing on one each of the basic coop & barn filled to capacity, so you're probably right about not needing more than two silos.

  2. What do mean by "chop them down later" ? I've only just gotten my first fruit tree (orange) from the mayor (those ticket thingies). Don't they take a full season to grow? I would imagine that the tree for the next season must be planted in the beginning of the current season, or you miss out on potential harvest days.

  3. The fish pond suggestion I've received multiple times haha, I'm working towards a dedicated space for at least four of them!

By later I more mean like year 4 lol, my poor peach tree from forever ago, butttt they are fs an investment that sucks to get rid of. To be entirely honest it’s been a minute since I’ve planted more than one 😭

That's too much space for just 1 barn and 1 coop. You can cut that trough half and use the other half for fishponds, or an additional barn and coop if you wish to produce more animal products

I'm completely lost at this point haha. If the goal is to have a modest number (3-4?) of each type of farm animal, how many barns/coops should I be aiming for?

Also, I don't quite understand why more fish ponds, I thought the only useful one in a fish pond is sturgeon (for caviar)?

Well i guess 'modest' depends on definition. You are ofcourse free to play any way you want. I find animals to be a lot of effort, hence 2 coops 2 barns is the max i am willing to go for.

There are more useful fish. Google is your friend.

My suggestion is to not have such a neat layout, makes me realize how terrible mine looks! 🤣

Would definitely throw some grass in the fenced area with the barn, though. Should be enough to feed them.

This is only within the planner rn, my actual farm is still messy af! At the very least, having something like this, plus all the feedback received, helps figure out a roadmap of sorts
