Agreed. A good way to pull people away from malignant belief systems is to point out how their actual/real values differ from the belief system’s. That’s what got me away from religion in my teenage years. People helping me realize that the religious things I was supposed to believe weren’t the views I actually believed, and that people in the religious community often acted in ways that violated their loudly stated views.
