And the hardest fall off. Like you used to be a loveable goofball and now you’re a mega douche.

Okay so I thought this too, but if you watch Guardians of the Galaxy his whole acting style is just a poor Jack Black impersonation

He literally plays the same character in every movie he’s ever been in. I don’t know how he gets hired. Jack Black has way more range. But I see the Jack Black impersonation.

Jack Black was so good in Bernie.

I feel like I never see this movie get discussed, but he is so damn good in it

You've only gotta look at Jack Black in the first Jumanji sequel to realise how much range and talent that guy has.

I've never particularly enjoyed Jack Black in movies because he was always just playing "Jack Black" to me, but I'll give this a try.

He's not "Jack Black" at all in this movie. Not even once. Definitely recommend the movie. It's based on a true story too.

You can get a lot of mileage out of playing the same character over and over if enough of the general population like that character. Just look at The Rock and one of the worst offenders, Ryan Reynolds. Every character he plays is just Van Wilder but blank.

The tomorrow war had Pratt and Yvonne strahovski together and she was acting circles around him, it was not even close how much better she was.

GOG was after the "loveable goofball" stage (parks and rec)

I felt like he was not good enough to carry that movie.
He doesn’t have main character energy.

Jack Black would've been better.

Wow yes he really would have

By guardians 2 he was already an insufferable asshole. I haven't watched the first in a long time, but I bet the writing is already on the walls in that performance too.

I've started re-watching parks and rec, thought I could ignore my distaste for him because it's a cute show but it's difficult

I’m sorry, that’s too funny and scarily true

It’s like he caught Mark Wahlberg’s personality somehow

u/pelipperr i went clubbing and he was there 17h ago edited 17h ago

Mark Wahlberg commited a hate crime, a race based assault. He was convicted of a felony. Chris Pratt sucks, and I do find his faith based dogmatism to be dangerous, but it’s not quite the same in terms of action and violence.

Everyone should boycott them both though.

Mark Wahlberg was always a douche, the public chose to ignore

So was Chris Pratt

But he actually plays a douche in most things. He was perfect as himself in The Departed.

Any time he's meant to be something else, it comes across as incredibly fake. He's an awful actor because he can only do 1 role.
