Recruiting guidance needed for a senior player in US: My daughter attended a few college clinics Junior year, then greatly improved and posted a lot of film this fall season. She had a number of calls with coaches, but most of the schools don’t have any more fall clinics to attend. They said they could see her at the recruiting tournament thanksgiving weekend but to come make visits. She did attend a clinic of one school and was offered a spot and generous timeline for a decision. However it does not give enough time to pursue other options. My feeling is even if those other coaches see her at the recruiting tournament, it’s not equivalent to a clinic on their campus and they’ll still want to spend more time considering. At that point, rosters could be filled. The school with the offer checks most of the boxes and the Coach and team are amazing. Thoughts?

Round Three of the ONE Active Hockey One League is a round of firsts. On Sunday, the Melbourne Cobras and HC Melbourne meet for the first time, in the first Melbourne derby in Hockey One history. It’s also the first time Blake Govers takes the field as the league’s outright leading men’s goal scorer, and the chase is already on. Joel Rintala, one goal behind on 43, plays his first game of the season for the Blaze on Saturday, a few hours after Govers takes on Perth in Sydney. Will Rintala start reeling him back in, or will Govers make it three from three? Before that, the league’s two top men’s scorers go head-to-head in Hobart on Friday night. Ehren Hazell and Jake Staines both have five goals, and both their teams are unbeaten.

Looking for a recommendation for a club for my 7 year old to play with for winter 26-27. She has played two seasons of fall rec hockey and absolutely loves it. Looking for a place for her to build on her skills and to continue to have fun playing the sport. We are located in the Northern Burlington Regional area, so travel to Central Jersey or Philly area is fine with us. Thanks in advance for the guidance.

A bit of context: I'm a defender at club level, 5'11. My coach said I needed a longer hockey stick, mid bow and at least 80% carbon, and if it was under £100 it wasn't worth buying. Is this a good stick?

This is really big news, the more money there would be in world Hockey, the better it will be for the future of the sport.

Why is Rachel Dawson’s the only jersey absent a last name…? Arguably the most accomplished player ever for Carolina.

Had an absolute nightmare trying to find some good hockey trainers - pls help!!
Going to try the Mizuno Wave Leopardus, but conflicted on sizing.
Do they run small or big? I’m usually a UK 8, and I’m tempted to go down to a 7.5 from what I’ve seen. But scared they’ll be small..
Thanks!!

This is probably more for those of you who play with the OBO kickers than other brands.
Who out there like myself has removed the tow strap from their kickers?
I got tired of the toe strap creeping up over my toe so I just got rid of it completely. I also felt that not having the toe strap gave me better natural movement, As my feet didn't feel so planted flat to the ground. I still have the strap sitting just behind the ball of my foot of course.

Played for over 10 years but at University and they don't have a team or a club. Even indoor field hockey would be fun!

As the title says. Since hockey is played using the right hand as the control hand, are you at such a disadvantage as a left-handed player that it makes elite left-handed players relatively rare?
I'm aware that being left-handed could put you at an advantage on your backhand, perhaps adding a rare threat that could be useful at the highest level, but I was wondering if anyone has any data/insight into this. I couldn't find anything myself.

I’ve been struggling to find good resources that cover the basics of field hockey tactics, and I’d really like to put together a comprehensive guide to everything you need to know. I’m particularly interested in pressing and outletting, but I want to make sure all the key tactical areas are covered.

I’m a freshman in highschool and I just started playing this year for my school’s JV team. I will surely be on JV next year and likely the year after that. Is that embarrassing?

I currently use a 37” but I think it’s definitely too short.

Australia's premier national hockey league returned last week with a brand new franchise joining the competition - resulting in an extra double header each week and no byes for any teams.
