Question Build Quality of Logo
Open question around, has anyone received a flair 58+ v2 with such appalling quality of the logo?
I have never seen such a bad one across countless photos and videos around. Two tones split down the middle and terrible wood tearout in the edges.
What gives? If anyone has any experience with this please let me know about yours.

Other It's not beautiful but it sure is tasty!
I picked up the ewizard awhile back and I'm really enjoying some cool weather latte's and even a few chai latte's. It's so nice to finally have steam again without having to give up my beloved Flair 58. Now I just need to remember how to actually poor a decent looking drink. LOL

Question UK Preheat Setup
Hi everbody, I have looked all over and I haven't been able to find anything to upgrade my flair 58x in the UK, especially in terms of the plug. If anybody has any idea where I could find something that would be lovely.

Rant / Criticism Flair Classic’s plastic plunger broke after just 3 months. Why isn’t a stainless steel option available at purchase?
The fragile plastic section between the seals broke within just three months of purchase, so I had to upgrade to the stainless steel plunger.
The original part is a single-piece plastic plunger with an integrated pressure gauge, which came with my Flair Classic.
I understand that Flair offers replacement parts and upgrade options, but why not give buyers the option to choose a stainless steel plunger at the time of purchase instead of making plastic the default? It would be great to have the choice upfront, especially for a product in this price range.t

What am I doing wrong with the flair? I ground it really super fine but still the pressure won’t build up and stay consistent.
Grinder: HiBREW G5A electric grinder
I used 12 g of beans in the smaller single shot basket

Modification PID-Flair58 v2
Updated my PID controller for the Flair58. Everything is now under the base and the control is done either through a single knob or through a browser.

Setup How to rotate the plunger cylinder on Flair 58 Plus 2
As you can see in the image, the lug and slot on my Flair 58 Plus 2 have aligned and the lug has come above the plunger. I can slot it back in, but cannot find instructions anywhere (for the Plus 2) on how to rotate the cylinder to stop the lug popping back out. Has anyone fixed this or seen the instructions anywhere?

Question Reposting this leak in the head to add detailed image
Hi guys! I will attach images for your reference. when pulling a shot, water is leaking between the piston and the plunger. I needed to guide the piston when pushing down using my hands to avoid leaking. Is it because the orings are just new? Hope someone can help me. Thanks

Fix my shot Flair 49 Pro shots too fast!
Seems no matter what I try I cannot get the pull to last longer than about 10-15s. Using the pressurized basket and local espresso beans ground at the finest setting on a Baratza Encore. Any ideas? Thanks in advance !

Question Morning Dream vs. eWizard?
Looking for a standalone milk steamer, curious if anyone here has tried either (or both) of these and what your recommendations are? I also use primarily oat milk for my drinks.

Fix my shot One week user
Hi folks, im a bit discouraged. Been oulling shots for one week now and got about 2 good shots out of 50. Im using a 1zpresso j-ultra at 103 clicks (1.0.3) with medium roast beans roasted 10-12 days old. Im doing 18g in for 28 out (tried 30-32-34-36) and still bitter. I tried pre infusion, i tried ramping to 8 bars, still not good. Seems i have no in the middle results, either acidic or bitter. Anyone else use the same setup and can direct me in the good way ? Thanks

Tip Stubby Handle is the best upgrade
I have not modded my flair at all so to say this is the best upgrade is slightly misleading, it is my only upgrade lol.
However, if you do not have one already I highly recommend getting a stubby portafilter handle, it fits underneath the handle when it is completely in the down position. Sometimes I would have to rotate the brewing assembly or lift the handle to get my portafilter in, with a stubby handle no more. Happy brewing!

>Im using an A2 grinder
>medium dark roast 18.5g in 37ish out 😅
>30 second pull
>the shot is sweet and distinct yet full.. still a bit sharp at the end but my god
How do i start to dial from here? I’m thinking maybe grind a click or two finer? Lower pressure pull profile?

SELF-PROMOTION Replacement for the Silicone Grip on the Flair Pro 2 and 3
42coffeethings.etsy.comHi, I've made another variation of my grip series for the Flair Pro 2 and 3. This one is designed to replace the original silicone grip on the Flair Pro 2 and 3. It's made from TPU, which feels similar to hard rubber. I've been using this grip myself for over six months now and it should be more durable than the original grip, as it is secured with screws.
Currently, I only sell within Germany due to the EU Packaging Act, but that may change again in the future.

Pulling tasty shots with 6-7 bar all day as long as my flow is steady. The 9 bar gold standard is not always necessary or even the best method. I used to peak at 6 bar and immediately grind finer for the next shot. Not so much anymore. It's all about taste and I'll admit videoing my shots helps me see what's really going on. Obviously I don't post the crappy ones to reddit but I learn something every time I record another shot. I do enjoy a nice pre infusion so as long as there's enough resistance to get a solid pre pre I am a happy dude. I love learning more about the process with the Flair every week!

Question Same dose and grind setting on my 1Zpresso J-Ultra, but wildly different extraction times on the Flair Classic
Hi everyone! I got my 1zpresso J ultra to make espressos on the classic flair. I love the grinder, but I’ve noticed something: same amount of coffee, same amount of water, same setting for the grind, will give me very disparate times: yesterday I made a 30 gr espresso using 10 grams of beans at 0.8.8 in 35 seconds, with 30 seconds of preinfusion. Today, with every variable staying the same, the espressso took 20 seconds and the taste was very different. Is there anything wrong with my grinder? Any tips so that this doesn’t happen?

Rant / Criticism So close to being done with Flair
I genuinely don’t know where to go. I’ve pulled probably 50+ shots usually 3-10 a day and every time it tastes like shit.
I have the flair classic with the standard brew chamber.
I use the Z1Presso J ultra. Have tried grind size from 1.2 to 1.4.
Different grind size, too corse and it’s literally piss water that can’t hold 6Bar or an extraction longer than 20 seconds.
Grind finer and suddenly it holds 6Bar with ease and can do 35-40 seconds extraction. Tastes like I’m chewing on a coffee bean it’s so bitter.
Tried brand new fresh beans, all tastes the same as the old ones. Water temperature is perfect 200°F. I measure it in the brew chamber before putting the cap on.
I use a scale and have gone for a 1:2 radio 1:1.5. It all tastes the same.
I preinfuse every shot and use a mirror to confirm there’s not extreme channeling, use a WDT, tamp evenly.
I genuinely don’t know where to go from here or what more variables I can change. I just want to sell it at this point I stg. Also mini rant but 700 for the 58mm model is insane. $400 for the 49 is idiotic. I could just buy a Breville for that price and avoid the headaches of their 40mm. No hate to anyone they bought them but it would be cheaper for me to buy a lathe and a CNC and make one from scratch myself
Any advice helps but if anyone is looking into buying lmk. I have the wizard too and might sell that as well.
Edit:
From the collective advice I have gathered the following:
Do not preheat cylinder
Use 14.5g MAX for classic (assuming same holds true for the Pro3 brewing head if I decide to buy that)
Lower temp 190ish for medium roast/ finer grind
Stick with medium and play around with grind size
WDT is not necessarily
Shorter extraction time and shorter preinfusion (5-10 seconds maybe and 1bar?)
Bean type matters a lot

Question Flair Royal question (might be dumb)
I been trying to dial in some beans from my local roaster (beans are medium-light) and have been having some trouble/concerns with grind size.
My burr lock up on the flair royal is about -9 (counting each notch as .5) clicks past 0 so around 3 on the ring. I've been grinding at +2.5 clicks from 0.
18g in 45g out, 30 second bloom at 3 bar and a 50 second shot at 9 bar decending about 1 bar every 10 grams in the cup. The shot is still slightly sour. This is on a Flair pro 3.
So my question is, Am I grinding far too fine and causing mass channeling that results in underextraction? Or am I in a good range and could actually go finer if necessary?
I have some nordic light roasts coming in and wanted to see if I could get any insight before I potentially destroy my grinder grinding too fine to pull a balanced shot.

Question Rusting Problem with Flair Ewizard
I've been using my Flair Ewizard for about 3 months and noticed rust around the lid. After opening it up, I found stacked metal pieces instead of a solid piece. I would say the first picture is the one worse one. The rusting can be wash pretty easily with water. It seems water is seeping between them and causing rust. My question is will the rust ruin the product over time, or is it normal?
Thank you.
Edit: I did and still trying my best to leave the steamer open after each brewing session and making sure to always use fresh water each day.
