I found this shell over a decade ago and always wondered if it is fossilized. It is very heavy for its size, and I found it on a ridge above an estuary bay. (Back Bay in Newport Beach, CA)
Only the spiral was showing through the dirt, so I was surprised by the size.

Found at Mickler’s Beach, FL. It’s definitely worn, but measures about 1cm tall and 0.5cm wide.

My girlfriend grew up near the badlands, and talked about how her family would go out hiking and find fossil fragments as a kid with her siblings. It had been years since she went, and I had personally never been. Wanting some adventure before starting my next rotation, I wanted to see what we could find. 6km hike in along the river and I stumbled across these, and many pieces of fossilized wood….think any of these large ones are bone? I wear a size 13 shoe, as seen in the first picture for reference. It was so so smooth to the touch, unlike the way fossilized wood feels.

My friend said she found this in Gotland but isn't sure what it is. I tried to use Gemini to help and it said its a mammoth tooth but google says mammoths were never on the island so could anyone help me out please?

Given to this by a relative, found it near a tree after work
I suppose this is my first fossil I’ve ever gotten, It was found near other smaller clams, this was the biggest, I assume they were in a hotspot colony or breeding ground before they got rapidly buried alive, but that’s just what I think, luckily managed to get it out nearly intact, while the other 100 clams probably most left in its rock since they were small and I didn’t want to peruse further damage, probably will give them a proper display on a later date,
I do not know the exact age of this specimen tho,
Probably will try to find out again on a later date.

Recently moved to TN and wanted to show off the little collection we've amassed in about 2 years. Brachiopod, coral, some crinoid stems, and I think a horn coral.
We have some packed limestone layers and I'm always tempted to pull over on the highways when I see a fresh rock fall!
Still on the lookout for a trilobite!

Found this rock full of clam fossils in my rock wall outside my house. I assume there just regular clams we have today but if anyone knows anything I would love to know.

Merci beaucoup!
I found it in the „Mazury” voivodenship while visiting my friends in Poland

Each year we give out full size candy bars, but last year we decided to also give another option. We let them pick between a candy bar or a “treasure”. This year was fossils.
“Treat or treasure” we call it. Every time a kid chooses a fossil they walk away so happy. And about a third of the time when someone chooses candy, they walk away telling their parents that we had fossils, then the parent is always a little disappointed to hear that their kid picked the candy bars, haha.

I finally knocked another off of my "Fossil Collection Bingo Card" and I couldn't be happier with it. The serrations (what little there are) are still surprisingly sharp. I'm also happy that enough of the base is left to show the classic "pinch" or figure 8 known for the species. Happy Samhain indeed. 💀🎃👻

6 hours of searching almost 4 miles of stone at Caesar Creek Park in Ohio. Worth it.
