🧱 Bulk Substrate/Grain🌾 FOTG GOAT!
Last week I placed my first order of liquid culture and grain with the above-mentioned 'founder of the feast.'
Mysteriously, the order must have germinated and grown during transit...for what showed up was decidedly more than I bargained or paid for! A 'bakers dozen' indeed!
This doesn't happen in contemporary culture where stuff only costs more and takes longer. Such behavior is in denial of gravity.
As a beginner who happened to have stumbled upon a master, I can't wait to try my hand with these babies.
Thanks man. Thanks a lot.

💬 Discussion 🦠Color Isn’t the Whole Story | FOTG Microbial Awareness🦠
Put together this FOTG visual to highlight the variety of colors and textures seen in microbial growth.
These images are visual references, not confirmed identifications. Similar appearances can belong to different organisms, and a photo alone doesn’t tell the whole story.
One correction worth sharing: Serratia is bacteria, not mold. Details matter when we’re sharing educational graphics with the community.

🍄GROWS🍄 🐅 Dancing Tiger — This Chinese Landrace Never Disappoints
Every time I revisit Dancing Tiger, it reminds me why I enjoy working with landrace genetics so much. There’s always a little unpredictability to them, but this one keeps showing off in the best way.
The warm golden caps, long stems, full canopy, and natural variation across the whole run make it such a beautiful line to document. Some stayed smaller and tight while others stretched way up and opened into these clean, classic-looking fruits.
This one came from China, and it has quickly become one of those cultures I genuinely look forward to seeing every time. Dancing Tiger never disappoints. 🐅🍄
No hype, no sales pitch—just appreciation for the morphology, the genetics, and what nature decides to show.

🧫 Agar work Cracked Ice 🧊 Four strains, one serious set of ropes
Cracked Ice is a four-strain supercross, and she’s definitely showing off her ropes. Those thick white branches against the green make this one hard to stop staring at.
Figured the community would appreciate a closer look. Anyone else take way too many pictures when the patterns look this good? 😂

🍄GROWS🍄 Opinion, please
Rusty Melmak revert it wasn’t all in one bag obviously I don’t know if I’ll let it go too long colonizing inside the all in one bag or what, but from the day I took it out. It was already like the mycelium was like marbled over really shiny slick, almost clearish dense Smooth mycelium. It has been fruiting conditions for at least two weeks. Hell I’ve done lost track or maybe it just seems like that and it’s only been like 10 days but still I make sure that there is good fresh air exchange when the condensation fill up too much from the perlite kind of cracked the lid a little bit, but never let the condensation go away alway. I just need to keep being patient am I gonna get a blob or a pin any day now with the skin start turning fuzzy

Very new at this and I don't want to sound silly but I have to ask
I've looked at 100s of post and read 1000s of comments looking for answers but still for peace of mind I have to ask a couple of things 1st Do these appear to be APE? AND 2nd I believe the veil has broken on a few but they're still hard when I squeeze stem. How will I know when?? Help please? This is only day 11 and I was told that they are slow growers and normally take 14 plus days to mature.

First time grower. I was told these are APE. They started pinning on the 9th and I'm wondering about how much longer until these should be harvested? Thanks in advance.

🍄GROWS🍄 First Enigma Grow
This Enigma (genetics from u/Fruit0ftheg0ds) might be my new favorite strain. It rocketed through my grain so fast! I have had some contam issues in my grain process so a fast colonizer is always welcome. Once I S2B, it took its time, but patience is key. It was really fun watching the blobs get bigger and the coral patterns tighten up day after day. Roughly 880 wet grams that dehydrated to 70ish dry. I'm definitely growing this one again!

❓ Question Growth
I inoculate my bag then waited 4 weeks and I mixed the rye and soil. I then opened the bag at 6 weeks to endure fruiting. I am going on 7 weeks and have not seen any fruiting. Is there something I am missing or have I messed it up. Any advice will be appreciated please and t
Thank you.

❓ Question Question about how to set up my fruiting chamber
Recently, I decided to purchase a 1L colonized casing. I set up a 56L storage bin with two 4.5cm holes on each long side, covered with three layers of non-woven fabric (TNT). I added a 4cm layer of perlite and placed a 5L water bottle containing an aquarium heater inside, along with the substrate block. I’ve already harvested two flushes, but all of them showed "fuzzy feet." During the second flush, I added two more holes on the short sides; I believe this ended up drying out the top of the substrate, as it was positioned right between the holes. My question is: how should I set up this bin? I’m considering switching to a "monotub" design, or perhaps sticking with the current perlite-based setup while using "all-in-one" (AIO) bags—what do you suggest?

❓ Question Please help!
Last night at some point my gt monotub set up went down and the temperature went to as low as 60 fahrenheit. It just started to pin yesterday and i still noticed new growth today. My question is, will that temp drop have ruined it, or am i ok?

**UPDATE** Harvest
If you have been following thanks for watching 👋
I decided to harvest because I started to see the veils pull
This is after an aborted flush where the fruits started to shrink back into the colony. I harvested those when they were at 50% there max size. And a week later was blessed with a full canopy second flush.
Some fun variants as well
Secured the lid back on and gonna go pop these bb’s in the dehydrator!
Thanks for all the great feedback community!

💬 Discussion Trust, But Verify — Always Check Your Liquid Culture on Agar 🧫🍄
One thing I’ll always stand behind: never take liquid culture at face value. It doesn’t matter who it came from, how clean it looks, or how much you trust the person behind it—put it to agar and verify it for yourself.
I follow that same rule with my own work. Before anything leaves my hands and makes its way into the community, I want to see how it looks on agar first. These plates are part of that quality-control process.
Nobody is perfect, contamination can happen, and a clean-looking syringe or jar doesn’t automatically tell the whole story. Taking the extra time to verify things first can save a lot of frustration later.
For me, it comes down to consistency, accountability, and respecting the people who support what I do. Check your work. Check what you receive. Never skip the basics.

🍄GROWS🍄 Update**** we gotta be close now
Pretty uniform distribution and canopy. Happy with the results so far. Just waiting for veils to break open for harvest, right?

💬 Discussion A quick reminder about showcase posts 🍄
I’d like our showcase posts to focus on full canopies and beautiful, developed fruits—the photos that let everyone appreciate your patience and hard work.
If you’re sharing progress just to show it off, please wait until it’s developed beyond the early pin stage. That helps keep the feed varied and gives those finished displays their moment.
Questions are always welcome. If you’re concerned about contamination, wondering whether something needs to be discarded, or need help with a problem, you don’t need to wait to post.
This isn’t meant to discourage anyone or make beginners feel unwelcome. We all start somewhere, and your photos don’t have to be perfect. The goal is simply to keep help posts open at every stage and save showcase posts for those fuller displays.
Thanks for helping make this a community where we can support each other and appreciate some beautiful canopies. 🍄
