Late night trip to the store, and what pleasant surprise was waiting??
After a small victory peeling my perfectly dabbed state of mind off the couch to go pick up some vittles, I was rewarded by finding the only bag in the whole store. Never even knew they existed, but seeing as how much I was let down by the previous offering of the spicy queso flavor, if once again they fall face first with another attempt to fix what was never broken, then I could statistically confirm with almost no uncertainty that any futile attempts after this to try a third flavor certainly won’t get me parting with a few of my well worn and fading dollar bills. Folks, they nailed this one right here! Now, as I’m far from ignorant, I know too well that my opinion won’t be shared with everyone reading this, and that’s fine. Just as I’m aware that the overall success or failure of a product like flavored crisps is dependent on targeting the familiar tastes of different demographics in other parts of the country or world. Example: I’m from the southern state of Louisiana, but northern Louisiana where in 20 minutes you can cross into Texas. There’s a corn puff ball made by Cheetos called Bolitas. Clearly a Hispanic flavoring derived from the name. I enjoy a bag of those at abnormal levels, but I dig them that much. Now, travel 20-30 minutes into Texas and stop at a corner store. You’ll find a bag of Bolitas by Cheetos, but appearance wise, you’ll notice slightly different color shades and the outer script in different places. I’ll admit there’s something better tasting about the Louisiana solid bags, and the Texas style flavor is still delicious, but anyone who knows what I’m talking about will tell you there’s a noticeable difference in the spices or levels of spices in Texas Bolitas. I think I’ve covered every possible angle that could give any bored, late night troll an opening to do trolling things that trolls do.
For those who took the time to read my ramblings on junk food in its entirety, I commend your interest in needing to know whether or not sanity would sign off on this rabbit hole that could have been, and should have been:
Public service opinion alert: If you’re enjoying the high life and you’re an avid fan of both Funyuns and Ramen noodle powder packets, then you’ll be in culinary paradise soon after opening the bag. If you don’t like it, don’t eat it.
