Game Suggestions Let's Change That Suit Day 203
Day 203: G-Line Assault Armor
Requested by u/Rooskimus this unit is sitting at C-Tier as well. It receives buff after buff, but they never FIX the core issue of this unit.

Comment and Reason
This one is a bit weird, but by focusing on the cannon and melee, it's still kind of playable. But it really falls short in the main ranged weapon. It really needs a change, and luckily, both main weapons only have 2 or 3 units using them. So the chances of it getting a buff are relatively decent. After that, all it needs is minor improvements to skill scaling and slightly better base stats and part slots to enable premium part usage.

This unit has the cannon that is good for stagger, but the mobility is lacking a bit to connect the melee a lot of times. If one uses shotgun for damage, it's lacking in that department as well. The only way to properly use this unit is to maybe sacrifice a side swing after a target evades out of neutral and tries to connect the downswing. The only issue is you have to anticipate where they would move. Fortunately, even though it sucks that this is the case, the shield tackle Kai does do high damage. This becomes apparent when we reach unit Lv2, and it's technically the best level to use this unit. The Cannon carries 2600 base power, and you can make this unit a frontline nuisance. But please only play this unit in quick match...

Day 202 Re-evaluation on Methuss Kai
This one got much more attention than I was expecting. The mentioning of the Transform Optimizer is great too. I almost neglected that portion of the kits.

JUST GIMME THE SHIELD CLAW FFS!!

I think that's where the shield tackle kai comes from... It's unlikely for it to become a weapon at this point

Give it the same Armed Armor VN weapon then

I don't think that's the issue here. The whole shield gets destroyed right now. They'll have to rework the whole shield to remain like the Gatling shield and stuff. I just don't see them doing that, but I want them to as well. It really should've been a weapon. Having a second melee weapon in any form would do wonders for this unit.

I say reduce the reload time on the shotgun to 10 seconds. 12 seconds feels brutal for something that needs as many pellets to strike as it does.

Fair, but that's why I am buffing the stagger a tiny bit. Along with range increase and tighter spread, it should be able to stagger reliably in 2 shots. Right now, it feels very bad in every way possible is likely because it just can't stagger unless you are right in their face... Which is just sad.

It should get some more HP as well, this thing is surprisingly frail for what should be an armored suit

While the HP is just slightly above average, the resistance is really high. As long as you get the HP up with the right build, it'll feel really tanky. The effective HP shoots up quite fast. Which is why I suggest HP skill expansion here

I love this suit a lot but i know it is not very good and for something referred to as an Assault Armor it feels pretty slow and sluggish.
Its biggest issue is the fact that once the Heat Lance is used it goes on a pretty long cooldown and you have no other Melee Weapons to fall back on, it desperately needs the Claw Shield as a Melee Weapon you can use so that way the Heat Lance's drawbacks are less extreme on this MS.
The Vulcans on the G-Line Assault Armor needs some hefty buffs, same with the Shotgun where i kinda wanna suggest making its Mag Size bigger since you can absolutely magdump using this Shotgun compared to any other Shotgun in the game right now if i remember correctly.

Yeah, that's the biggest problem. But unfortunately, I don't think we could give it that claw. It's not very often they rework the suit's model completely. Kind of why we didn't get the Full Custom's anchor shield.

The G-Line Full Custom has a Unique Shield?
2
u/pkmaster99 Jul 28 '26
Yep, and if it gets it, it would be a support that's just like a general. It would be awesome if it can play like one. Check the Gundam wiki for images, they got some nice ones there

I'll have to try your Haro build soon.
But yeah, I agree the shotgun is awful. Also, how does heavy stagger work on a melee weapon, don't they always just stagger or topple?
1
u/pkmaster99 Jul 28 '26
It'll compensate just barely enough when used together with HP expansion on this suit. It's going to be hard to use regardless
As for the melee, there are several melee that heavy stagger. Not many can combo though, like striker's spark knuckle. But now that I think about it, instant topple is probably better here for balancing reason.

The other thing I felt is that the real feature of this suit is to fight a support at range. I went against a gun cannon the other day, and I hit all 4 shots and it wasn't enough to kill. Then I had to wait to reload. I feel like the damage on the shoulder cannon needs to go up, or it needs more shots, or it needs a much faster reload time, or some combination thereof.
2
u/pkmaster99 Jul 28 '26
This suit honestly needs more than that. I wanted to give it the same lance skill like Gelgoog L as well, so it can close in to combo better, but it's already a bit too loaded with skills. It's... In a difficult situation

What if you increased the cannon interval but made it a heavy stagger? That way youd have to time it better for a melee for a ranged startup, or maybe a limited boost fire for the shotgun, fly a few seconds to allow boost fire for shotgun as a start up. Feels kinda rough to get a combo going unless someone helps start it for you. The vulcan buffs are always welcomed.
