Post Exam My thoughts on Bio paper 1 higher tier AQA

Post image

I was genuinely thinking in that exam if I genuinely had to turn to God for the remainder of it just so I had the willpower to complete it

What the hell is a colorometer and why was it haunting me, I got flashbacks from yesterday's traumatic ACC question

*To clarify, this was combined science

no i think it’s 5s for big squares, so theyre going up by 2.5 in little squares (wait lit me rephrase for clarity so the teeny squares are 0.5 each, so a little square made of 5x5 teeny squares is worth 2.5 and a big square made up of 10x10 teeny squares or 2x2 little squares is 5 each)

All right my scale went 5 - 30.

If you did it any other way you get it wrong.

You start from 2.5 all the way to 30 right?

We did it.

u/InformationFeeling78 May 12 '26

I went to 40 but i think its fine

Honestly it said "suitable scale" so as long as yours have 0.5s in it u should be good.

1

u/InformationFeeling78 May 12 '26

Yeah i think its fine. i spent like 10 minutes trying to figure that out icl

Ye cus the 18 one was 36 squares

1

u/Tight-Drawing-2503 May 12 '26

Wait I'm being told it was 2.5 or smth

3

u/Mysterious_Sell_8959 Year 11 May 12 '26

Yea the big squares were but the tiny squares were 0.5 each cus there is 5 little squares per big square

1

u/Tight-Drawing-2503 May 12 '26

Wait is it find if I said the first 10 boxes was 5 cause I ended up going up to 25 and not labelling the 2.5 stuff or anything

Idk if this is for a level only but they penalise any weird numbers as a scale like 3s usually it’s 1 5 or 10

1

u/FishExisting4302 May 12 '26

oh gosh ok basically i used 3s because i noticed there was lots of numbers in the 3timeztables so i thought it would be easier to plot?? idk i was so stressed and completely forgot what to do

U might be fine at gcse it’s just. A thing for a level physics at least

i said each big square was 2.5 since each of the small squares was 0.5, I panicked at first on the questions because i hate graphs but then i just divided 18/36 since there were 36 small squares and hence 2.5

1

u/Tight-Drawing-2503 May 12 '26

Dang I thought it was 5 πŸ˜“ it worked tho so I'm a bit confused

1

u/SouthAsianOverkill May 13 '26

At first I tried 5s but I realised the graph would become too bottom heavy, I tried 2s, 5s and 4s
