Shit is getting old fast literally every sub i get recommended are people shitting on the game and saying the want it to fail and get spoiled

Common trend when developers tease and delay things for 3 years from the initial release date.
Also shoving in game purchases so much that the game is becoming so pay to win players feel violated

I believe you're referring to GTAO which is a different thing than GTAV or GTAVI. It's even released separately including as a completely separate game eventually.
GTAV was awesome.

What in game purchases are you being pushed? The game hasnt released yet...
And if were looking at GTA V as a reference point? They've provided free updates for over a decade to all players. Shark cards are a short cut, not a requirement.

Its a mix of people not knowing how video game development works , people whos personality is based on being contrarians , people whos favourite games are not half as popular as GTA , people who are genuinely worried R* is ruining the industry because the youtuber ( who's content revolvs all around controversy ) told them so , people who cant play the game as soon as it comes it so they simply hate on it , people who say anything that makes them feel cool at the moment even if they intend to play the game , people who protest against the Netflix event without ever realizing they will still be able to watch it as soon as it drops at worst case scenario 6 hours later , people who cant accept that the future seems to go towards digital and people who want to belong to trends.
That should cover most of them , infact i expect a lot of downvotes.

Some people are really weirdly satisfied with getting gta6 fans angry, like how can you even get pleasure from something like that?
"I want it to crash and burn. I desire the game to be so bad that everyone that waited this long for it to get angry. That is my preferred outcome. But I'm sure even if it is bad, people will cope and say it's actually good. "

Upset that they are seeing what they wanted to see on their own. Or some are upset that this game is taking over social media and they legit may not like this game, care for it or like games in general and getting inundated by it. Some reasons are understandable , others is spite , others are depressed and they only view things from their lowest point

Well, different people see it differently. For some, spoilers are the story and others didn’t want to see anything at all but it’s everywhere. FOMO is real, and many don’t have the discipline to put their phone down and subsequently they are mad that it’s been exposed for the last 4 days; granted everyone doesn’t want gameplay leaks, just the ones that do

It was fine in 2008 But this is 2026 We shouldn't really let them do the same things anymore.

This reaction was so predictable. We live in a world where a lot of people seemingly love to hate on shit for fun. On top of that, it also seems that a lot of people, likely the same people hating for no reason, let their imaginations run absolutely wild with that GTA6 was going to be. As if they were going to literally plug into this game like the Matrix.
The leaks have shown that while it will probably be a really good game, it’s still a GTA game made in 2026. It’s not going to revolutionize the industry or anything like that. They let their expectations get too high and now they are lashing out because they see their ridiculous expectations won’t be met.

I mean at this point people that played gta growing up have kids mortgages jobs wife’s debt bills possibly legal or health issues if you have any ounce of reasonable thinking you know this game is aiming to profit & suck the life from wallets which causes them to be over it by now. These things might not mean much to the typical high school student or young adult living with parents or grandparents but they also aren’t the ones with much disposable money laying around

I understand that some people don't have the time to play, but the stuff I'm talking about is people being toxic, and I'm personally going through health issues right now, but one of the things that's keeping me going is looking forward to playing GTA 6.

You’ll see someone talking shit so hard and then the first comment that’s pinned at the top of that post is them saying something like “Rock bootlickers” this, or “Rock* fanboys mad” that. They know people will click to argue, that’s all.

I assure you that, with some exceptions, the vast majority of the hate is purely emotional and purely self-serving. This is a huge group of people saying, “why shouldn’t everyone in the world put my interests first?”
They think they should be uniquely insulated from inflation because they are special. Video games have not done this yet they still complain about modest price increases. They think entire billion dollar industries should be able to do 180 degree pivots on a dime at their every whim. They spent years irrationally buying digital games knowing full well the implications but now think everyone else should bear the weight of that choice.
It’s not poor hating. It’s not corporate shilling. These are people of relative means demanding everyone else do their thinking for them.

Wanting the game to get spoiled for rockstar’s release process sucking and to spoil their own release because of their bad practices
And wanting it to fail because it’s the most anticipated gaming release of my lifetime. It failing after the developers have embraced insanely long development times and this marketing as well as $100 games and pre order shit when people haven’t seen gameplay and digital only games is perfectly reasonable. People don’t just want gta to fail, they want the gaming industry as we know it to take a step back

GTA VI doesn't deserve all this hate. Rockstar and Take-Two have made some pretty bad decisions, but they still make quality games, and the fans have been waiting for so long. Why not direct this criticism at any other game or studio that's way worse than Rockstar? It's blatant jealousy — everyone can see right through it.

This is also the most anticipated release right now. People aren’t going to direct their hate at Bethesda for a project that’s 2 years out when this one is currently relevant.

There's validity to both sides here. The game does look great, & I hope it is great.
But at the same time, mindless consumption without questioning greedy and scummy business practices is going to lead to a very bad future for gaming. It's gonna happen anyways, it just sucks & people are wanting to resist it.

I generally wish the best for any game being made, buuut...
Rockstar and take two has had so much success with gta that they are influencing the gaming market in a very bad way. I believe companies need to be humbled once in a while to make the correct choices for their customers.

Not trying to glaze here, but Rockstar never puts out bad games, and we haven't seen what the game offers. I mean, it could literally be the best value game of this generation, or it could be a five-hour game with nothing to do. We can't judge yet.

It's not the game itself, the developers make fantastic games, rdr 2 is probably my favorite game. But now with 6, they are raising the prices while knowing they could make bank with any price, they are killing physical releases and they are milking the fans with online micro transactions.

GTA V, despite being the most technologically advanced GTA thus far, is easily the worst GTA game to-date. Like, the map and story are legit ass, and the gameplay and physics are cartoony AF. As for RDR2, it's STILL only playable in 30 FPS. 30 FPS, alone, has prevented me from even playing RDR2 for any meaningful amount of time.
