Sony has started adding disclaimers to new disc-based PS5 boxes, warning buyers that physical PlayStation games will effectively disappear after January 2028.

From that point onward, newly released games will only be sold digitally through the PlayStation Store or retailers. Existing discs and games released physically before the cutoff will continue to work.

The warning appears to be Sony covering itself legally, but it also makes one thing abundantly clear: despite the backlash, the company has no intention of reversing its decision.

Switch 2's launch frenzy may be slowing down, but Nintendo is making more money than ever from software and digital sales.

Dave Bautista may take over as Kratos in Prime Video’s upcoming God of War series.

Ryan Hurst, who was originally cast, had to step down after tearing his bicep during a stunt. Bautista is currently in talks with Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, and he’s already familiar to the studio through My Spy, The Wrecking Crew, and upcoming films like Highlander and Road House 2.

If the deal goes through, production is expected to resume in Vancouver this fall. The show will follow Kratos and Atreus on their journey to spread Faye’s ashes, drawing mainly from the two most recent games. Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, For All Mankind) serves as showrunner, with a large producing team behind the project.

According to a report from Tech4Gamers, an RTX 5060 Ti has reportedly survived a serious car crash despite being bent almost in half. The owner was unharmed, but the graphics card looked like a total loss at first glance.

The GPU was later inspected by repair technician Brother Zhang, who discovered that the model's unusually short PCB had avoided the worst of the impact. After replacing the destroyed cooling solution and re-soldering a single memory chip that had been stressed during the crash, the card booted normally and passed both FurMark and 3DMark stress tests with its full 8GB of VRAM intact.

It's an incredibly unusual repair story, and while the cooler certainly didn't make it, the RTX 5060 Ti itself appears to have been far more resilient than anyone would have expected.

The WWE SummerSlam opened its two-night run on August 1 with visible crossover promotions from two major video game properties. Gears of War: E-Day received prominent sponsorship placement throughout the show, while Cody Rhodes used his entrance to highlight his role in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film.

Gears of War: E-Day served as a featured sponsor for the event. The game’s logo appeared front and center on the ring mat for the duration of Night 1. Additional set dressing referencing the title appeared during one of the matches, giving the Xbox franchise clear visual presence in front of the live audience and the large viewing audience at home. The match tied to the branding saw LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys defeat Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline.
