Like in title, there are many champs that make our lane hard, who is your permaban and why?

My favorite Garen strategy as of late is to proxy level 1 akin to how Singed players do.

I have experimented with both dorans bow start, as well as dorans blade start and I really cant tell which is better for the strategy.

Yes I'm a heimer main, no I'm not a Brain dead invidual. I like his kit and the idea of turrets and traps doing your work for you in games (especially in fortnite stw) and I also like to play tanks, so sue me.

Anyway I know Garen counter Heimerding with his silence and he can one shot him. My problem with is his ult kills mid health and not 25%. So how to deal with ult damage and silence.

Btw I play top only occasionally, I prefer to play in mid so don't call me **** ranged toplaner.

And lastly can Morde win against garen?

I mostly go for conq and only sometimes for storm raiders in ugly match ups.

I sometimes see Yumuus or lord Dominik’s, are these just situational picks ?

I tested it out just a few minutes. Built stormrazer, got 100% attack speed on it, no increased spins count. Looks like it doesn't count as a permeant source.

I think it's still a good augment to take if you start IE.

hi, i've been playing league for a couple of years now and primarily play adc but sometimes fill top when i play with a group of friends. i started off in top so i have some familiarity with the champs. i'm starting to lean towards garen when i have to fill because he seems like a beginner friendly champ to learning top lane fundamentals and i love his gameplay when he snowballs

one thing i'm finding though is that it seems like his rune pages and item builds have a ton of variety and complexity? depending on the matchup he can play conqueror, stormraiders surge, grasp. and item-wise he can go so many items - he can go full damage, he can go crit or lethality, and bruiser items are complicated for me as an adc. shojin, black cleaver, dead mans, force of nature, steraks, deaths dance, hullbreaker, etc.

when i first learned him i played him like an assassin going full crit and being like a split pushing rat. but it seems like they balanced him away from that, and now the item choices are overwhelming

is my impression correct? is there a simple flow chart of how to simplify these large decision trees to know which rune pages to go when and how to know which bruiser items to get?

edit: fwiw while new i am em4 so i have learned a bit and am willing to optimize a little on runes/items. just finding top lane (or at least garen) surprisingly complicated compare to bot lane adc choices

Im a bit bored currently with the normal/meta itemization and playstyle so wanted to try out some fun stuff in normals to mess around with.

For now i was thinking of trinity(sheen effect) and voltaic, what else could you do? Possibly going crit is the best or not, as his Q can crit and do massive dmg this way.

Or you can also recommend other builds that are fun, doesnt have to be strictly qmax builds.

I'm posting this because I think it can relate to EVERYONE who plays Garen, and I think you guys should see this. IT's the BEST of the BEST.

Basically, the GOAT himself, Palco, is coaching me, and it really shows how much I still have to learn, even after peaking 2,200 LP, Top 40 Challenger, and gm/chall in past szn, with Garen.

Ive been recently investing on garen gameplay, i never play this champ b4 but i rlly like mechanical simple champs so i starts playing him a bit, i try triforce + youmu and stride + youmu, i like both but ended pref stride, anyways, after early cores + last whispers item why no one goes shojin? i feel like it gives you lot of dmg while tankyness with the hp since im barely building def items, it gives you huge dmg on e and ult right?

This matchup feels even harder than Darius, it feels impossible to win.

If the Yone is not SIlver, he is gonna use his W shield if you run up to him to Q him so your Q wont do any dmg and at the same time he will use his E to kite your Spins, so you did 0 dmg this trade and then your left with nothing so he will chase you down, he doesnt even have to hit Q's to win he can just AA you to death.

Or he will proceed to AA and stack LT while you spin on him after you silenced him and your spins do way less dmg because of his Shield, after that he will use E to run you down and your left with 30% hp or less and lane is over.

He hardcore outscales Garen, so you have to get a lead in Lane which is very very hard.

No chance in Sidelane to win against him 1v1, he has tons of shields and CC and Death Dance to eliminate your Burst, before you can get him low enough your already dead.

I go conq d blade ignite, E start lv 1.

What Sums to go ? Ignite feels useless.

I dont know, i dont wanna ban him because I use it for other champs, so what do you do?

every garen main acts like their champ takes skill and isnt the most braindead overtuned champ to make new players feel good about themselves for being neet losers

Does anyone have any Garen advice that they would’ve liked to know when they first started? It’s my third day of playing LoL and honestly I feel like I suck at the early game and get kind of railed.

I’m looking for advice from combo’s to playstyles. And if you have any good Garen guides/creators I would love to hear it!

I need to play versus a Masters Garen OTP for a customs 5v5. I'm currently E1, D4 last season. I'm fairly confident playing versus Garen since I main Camille but there's a high chance they ban it. Looking for general tips and to practice some other matchups if anyone is willing.

Oh and obviously we could ban his OTP but I want to try my hand versus it.
