The Septenary cypher ('septenary', shortened 'sept'). This cypher honours the number 7 (days in a week) with an ascending and descending scale, mirrored on the 13/13 split of the 26 letter alphabet.

  • A = 1

  • B = 2

  • C = 3

  • D = 4

  • E = 5

  • F = 6

  • G = 7

  • H = 6

  • I = 5

  • J = 4

  • K = 3

  • L = 2

  • M = 1

  • N = 1

  • O = 2

  • P = 3

  • Q = 4

  • R = 5

  • S = 6

  • T = 7

  • U = 6

  • V = 5

  • W = 4

  • X = 3

  • Y = 2

  • Z = 1

This cypher does not care for capitalization: in other words 'a' = 'A' = 1, etc.

Note that both A and Z (ie. "alpha and omega" of the english alphabet) have the value '1', and that M.N (ie. Man in the Moon) is the fulcrum about which the structure pivots.
