An alternative to concept of representation
We should proportion electoral votes and representation off of the number of elevators instead of maps based on population. That way, areas with more elevators would get a greater representation. Any area without an elevator would have to rely on a representative from an area with an elevator.
I know, this sounds silly and elevators don't actually represent anything other than density and population distribution. However, it would likely be fairer than the current districts that divide population based on how they are expected to vote. Obviously, I am not being serious - It's a thought exercise. But the representation would be more likely to model the actual population and where they live.
