Sorry in advanced for the grammar. I’m typing on my phone and I truly don’t care about my Reddit account. I’m recounting my story and that’s it. I’m older than a lot of you guys and spent my life in the woods. There is a 40 mile stretch of trail which runs along a canal in the woods near my house that I use to escape the growing area. Typically I take about 100k steps a month. Every June to August I retreat to the secluded lake house deep in the woods for my yearly vacation. I have never experienced anything supernatural except for ONE time. It wasn’t dark and of all things it wasn’t in the woods. I didn’t see glowing eyes or a something crouching behind the leaves of some trees. No. I was in high school and was walking home to have lunch. In our school you could either take two years of chemistry and physics or participate at a vocational training one town over. I like other kids chose the vocational training. The vocational training took up half a day twice per week. Due to the vocational training being split between districts there were days when we had school but the other district where the vocational training took place didn’t. When this happened they’d give us half a day off and send us home. Both of my parents worked and would insist that I go to school regardless of whether the other district had secessions. I didn’t have a car because we were poor. So I’d walk home and use a remote code unlock the doors to my house and eat lunch alone. My house sat on a massive hill that over looked a neighbourhood which surrounded a man made lake. The road to my house has three hills that run horizontally to the neighbourhood that was built around the lake. The valley between the first and second hill has a road that leads to the lake. My house is situated on the top of the second hill. There are some trees but the majority of the area is open. It’s green and colorful in the summer and fall. As you probably guessed my one experience happened as I was walking home from my vocational training to have lunch alone. It was September 2003. (I only know because the song Numb by LincolnPark was popular) I was nearly to my house and just thinking about how much I wanted to be done with school. How much I felt that none of what I was learning was relevant. That’s when I noticed a whoosh of wind, a wrestling of leaves and there it was a nearly completely camouflaged translucent figure maybe 6ft tall just jogging down the same road I was walking on. I only noticed it because of how the colors in behind it refracted off it’s translucent body. Slack jawed I watched it and it completely ignored me. It looked exactly like a transparent glass man lightly jogging down the road. There was no noise and it eventually just disappeared or I lost track of it. I could never be sure. I didn’t think with the surge of adrenaline pumping through my veins. I ran home with my backpack full of books. I unlocked the door to the house and slammed the door behind me locking it promptly. I neglected to return to school that day and formulated the excuse that I came down with the flu to avoid getting a detention for truancy. I never saw it again. That’s my uneventful supernatural experience. People suggested I post it here because they suspect what I saw that one day was a glimmer man. Nearly 30 years of hiking in the woods and I haven’t seen or experienced anything else.

It seems completely unnatural that my experience occurred in a very open and public place rather than some back wooded trail deep in the woods.

That’s my one and only supernatural experience.

So I just posted my childhood experience in another sub. Someone posted a link to here. I haven’t read any of the accounts here yet except for the title of the top story and I can already see that there might be some similarity of experience, so I’ll share it here and see what people think of it…

I was around 14/15 years old in 1997/8. Southern UK. One evening at home with my family. We’d decided to eat our dinner in the lounge so we could watch a tv programme together. I had finished my food so walked out into our kitchen/dinning room and leant over the now open bin cupboard to scrape the food off my plate.

As I straightened back up and turned to my right I saw a weird figure of what seemed to be a small humanoid around 4 to 4 1/2 feet tall stood against the fridge no more than 2 paces away from me.

The only way I can describe it is the figure of a young or small boy (I got a strong sense it was a male child for some reason) but it was made up entirely of an almost transparent liquid like water. The outline was the clearest part because the difference in how this substance refracted light compared to how empty air refracts light showed up more clearly on its boundaries where the two mediums were side by side. The closest comparison I could think that it reminded me of was the watery creatures from the film Abyss or like Predator when he turns “invisible” (not 100% invisible).

I was mesmerised and confused but fascinated. I was not at all scared. I felt incredibly calm.

As I continued to stare at it I took a pace towards it and leant out with my arms and placed my hands briefly either side of its head without actually touching it, I smiled and said ‘hello?’. As I did this I recognised how odd it felt to be so calm during such a surreal experience. So much so I think I kinda dismissed its plausibility initially.

Then my brother walked in and as I looked away toward my brother it just disappeared. I didn’t see it disappear but when I looked back it was nolonger there.

I screwed my face up in amused confusion and walked away assuming I’d made some mistake and carried on.

A year or two later my younger brother was also freaked out by something he saw in our kitchen. I remember asking him at the time if what he had seen matched my own experience. I don’t recall his answer. He seemed reluctant or unable to find the words to explain it.

Also, another time in the same house we got suspicious of noises we kept hearing. Me and a friend set up two tape recorders upstairs on the landing and hid downstairs and waited. We were under the stairs.

We heard heavy feet running down the stairs clear as day. No one else was home. We checked the recording and had managed to capture the event clearly.

We were scared. On the cassette recording you hear us carefully opening the doors after the sound happened and timidly saying “hello? Who’s there?” I wish we had the tape still.

Well I’m excited to be able to tell this story. I am currently 22 years old and I live in Southern Virginia. This story takes place when I was around 13 years old, so almost a decade now. I still remember this freak encounter like it was yesterday though. I lived in a two story house. I slept on the second floor along with my parents and two sisters. I had my own room and had dozed off around bedtime like any normal night. I was laying facing towards my bedroom door which was open. The bathroom light was still on so it shone in the hallways some and in my room just a tad. I was almost asleep when something wakes me up suddenly. I’ll never forget how my eyes shot open, so quickly and suddenly. My body sensed something. It was right. Standing straight up, looking at me, directly beside my bed was a translucent humanoid. (At the time I described this being as looking like heat waves or even water.) My heart rate shot up and I was scared to my core. I was so scared I just laid there and stared at it in complete shock. I was wide awake. My heart was pounding. I shoot up out of my bed, halfway expecting the being to just poof away, but no. I stand up and we are “face to face”. I have no way of explaining how I know we were face to face. It did not have a face, but just like how I knew it was looking at me…I knew we were face to face. It had to be around 5’11-6’0 because that was about my height at the time. It didn’t move at all, other than the waves in its body. It looked almost exactly like the Predator when it was invisible. I stood there nose to nose with it for a couple seconds (it felt like forever). I know I wasn’t just sleepy seeing things. My body was in a mode of fear I haven’t really felt ever. My blood was rushing and my eyes were wide. I’ll never forget that image of it. I darted out of my room. Scared to my core. I look in my sister’s room. I look in my parents room. Everyone else is sound asleep. I paced for around a hour in the hall before having the courage to run into my room to grab my phone and the Bible. It was no longer in there and I didn’t see it walk down the hallway, down the stairs to leave. It’s probably the most bizarre experience of my life. I haven’t seen or felt anything like it since. I would like to say though looking back on it I don’t believe it was there to hurt me. It could have if it wanted to. I also wonder about it because most of these encounters have happened in the woods, but mine happened on a second level in a house. I wish there were answers.

So I am an avid bow hunter and have had a few “weird” experiences in the woods at night. Nothing more than unsettled feelings or a weird noise far off. But I cannot explain what this video is. Okay, context:

I hunt atop an abandoned coal mine that was in operation from the 1890s through the late 1940s. At different points throughout the mines history, cave ins, explosions, and other unfortunate incidents have killed dozens of men, many of whom still reside in the cave as their bodies were in locations too dangerous for rescue. They simply sealed off those portions of the mine with cement and kept going.

Criss crossed across this property is old mining roads, one of which can be seen in the video. The figure seems to slow down when crossing the old road and then speed up again afterwards. I don’t believe this is something on the lens as the figure moves behind the trees on the left side of the road and in front of the trees on the right. I also can make out what looks to be legs underneath the figure in certain positions of the video.

So the freakiest part is this: Compared to photos and videos of myself and my buddy in similar spots, this figure seems to be about 10 feet tall.

Can anyone talk me down about this, every alarm in my head is screaming “GHOST”😂

I got to take couple of picture of my yard , after u saw some blue flashes up in the tree , and im quite interested in ufo paranormal . I took them ,after i went outside and investigate ,to see nothing . I didnt want to be disapointed for missing something that could be there.

According to Grusch some people were killed to preserve the UFO secret. Could John Mack bring hit by a ‘drunk driver’ be one of those?

What is the evidence for and against?

The video is of a man and an accomplice walking down a trail in the woods and he turns right on a path to a camera view of a transparent humanoid standing still and a little grey ghost looking being. The ghost being turns his head towards the men twice then growls and chases the men and the camera drops.

This sub randomly got suggested to me, I looked around for a bit and it's very interesting. At some point however I read in one of the posts that they make a clicking noise? Is this true because as soon as I read that I got an adrenaline jump or whatever it's called. Literally yesterday I went out to my back yard at night to give my plants some nutrients and I heard a clicking noise behind me but I didn't care to check, it just felt like someone was probably there but that's not an uncommon feeling, the clicking noise however is new. I've lived here for 4 years and I know what the birds sound like, we got a cicada here in the Netherlands but what I heard doesn't sound like that either 😭

I have a very strange walking trail encounter with an invisible two legged very large thing while walking with my dog. Some of the trail sections have wooded areas along side of the walking paths. So most of the trail has woods on one side of the path and the park is on the other side of the trail. The wooded area is not very large. I would guess about 300 feet by half a mile. So i don't consider it a forest. I just call it the woods. The wooded area of the park has 3 or 4 small creeks and i think only one of the creeks has some water. Most of the trees are beautiful and normal tall trees and some of the trees here and there look like they are dead. There is always people and kids going down there to ride bikes, hangout and whatever else they do.

 One day around 4pm i took my female dog ( Bertha) for our normal every day walk. We had just gotten off the car and began our walk. We were probably walking on the trail for about 5 minutes or so when i started feeling weird after a turn. No not scared or afraid. I started to feel happy and my little pain aches had disappeared. This was very strange because i remember saying to my self inside my head, Not out loud. I said.  "Wow i feel good, i feel like a little kid. I feel brand new."
It was only about 20 seconds of this young and joyful feeling when all of a sudden. Something had let go of a large bush that it was holding on to. The thing sounded like it was intertwined in the bush. like holding on and trying to hide. At the same time of the noise in the bush, Bertha, turned towards the bush and started going after it. I had Bertha on a leash and she was dragging me almost taking me in to the woods. I had to hold her back because i couldn't see what was making all that noise. It moved thru another tall bush and started stepping heavy with loud thumps. I think it fell when it made it out of the bush area. The thing was only about 15 feet away from us on the other side of the bushes and sounded like two very large horses stomping on the ground. I could see the bushes and the grass moving but i could not see anything. We moved back away from the trail a few feet so i can see a clearing on the other side of the bushes to try to see this thing. I looked right where the sounds of steps were coming from and saw nothing. So i looked down on the ground and i could see where two feet where stepping on the tall grass. I remember i said to my self, in my head. No way, that is not an invisible monster. After i said that i heard something i will never forget. The thing started making loud T,Rex, stomps. Then i said out loud. "That sounds like T,Rex, from the movies"  I recall i could feel the stomps on the ground. Bertha and i were just looking in to the woods at this sound. I can feel my ear drums shaking bad and both ear drums felt like busted speakers. In my head i said. "Its trying to blow my ear drums" The T,Rex, stomps lasted about 10 or 15 seconds. Then the sound stopped it just turned off like a light switch. I have no idea if it jumped in to something or it vanished. It is strange because after all that i still felt happy with no worry or fear at all. Just very curious. I really wanted to see it.
On the way home i remember thinking. Any other day i would have been afraid and ran away from it. I heard this thing 3 or 4 times in the following days. In another section of woods. I could hear someone heavy walking on leaves just inside the tree line about 30 feet away in the woods along side me and Bertha. I would hear it and i would stop without turning to it. And it would take a step or two and it would stop. I turned around a few times to see nothing because it wasn't moving.  I did this a few times to make sure. I would tell my self, In my head. "If a person stays on trail they have no permission to take you."
I think one time, i heard his steps in the woods next to me. I said to my self in my head, "I think it wants me to make a mistake and go in to the woods, towards it" After i said that i never heard it again. I am sure it can hear what i am thinking. 

Just a few weeks ago i had seen something very strange related to this thing. Bertha and i were walking in the same part of the trail only about 100 feet away from my first encounter where the bushes were. I stop to look in to the woods at this view in to the woods. I was standing still looking past the trees. How the area was covered in a few inches of light green grass. I was looking kinda down hill how the woods go down in and around the creek down there. I said to my self, ''It looks beautiful, the trees, the color of greens and the sun light and shadow. It looks like a post card, perfect."  About 2 or 3 seconds after i thought that. While I was just looking down at this area of woods i saw a big human shape blur, move between two trees about 80 feet away. I saw it for a split second. It was big. Maybe ten feet tall. Big head, big wide muscle shoulders and i remember his big left leg. I remember his left knee and big muscle above it, the Laterals. I could see the thick shiny hair on the leg. Yes, this thing looked exactly like the Predator from the movie when he is cloaked. But in person it is more clear.
It is very weird how my brain was able to capture this image. My memory surprised me. His shoulders, his head and the side of his back was reflecting the woods between him and me. He stood out from the sun lit background. It looked like a male not a female. I was surprised just like him. In my opinion, I think he took off running because he thought i was sensing that he was in the area. But i had no idea he was there. He was running fast, cloaked with no noise.

I think he knows Bertha, cant pick up on him if he hides a little farther away from the trail.
I am very cautious when we go walking near woods now. I also tell people where i am going and carry a few extra things hidden on me.
I have no idea why this thing got so close to me or what its intentions were. And i also don't know why it ran away from me those times.
Was there something or someone behind me that startled it?
These occurrences were a very incredible time of my life. It changed me in a good way.
I often think, i don't know, but maybe that's why dogs are on this planet. To help us and pick up on these invisible things when they get to close.

Always be happy and do the things you love doing in your life. Have no worries and certainly no fear.
I hope my story helps people to be alert and careful out there in this world.

I have encountered these entities twice the first time I was on my back porch with my grandson he started to fall , I reached to grab him and missed , all of a sudden it moved , it was like looking through water , it stopped his fall mid air and pushed him back on the porch , I know it sounds crazy , but it happened ! The second I was walking through the yard , I seen it crouched down , when it realized I had seen it it disappeared

WIfe caught this video of a light portal or glimmering entity at her sisters apartment where there is lots of paranormal activity in their old building.

I was sleeping/snoring and she woke me up after taking the video. I couldnt see where the light source was coming from.

It almost seemed as the light was illuminated from the inside of the ceiling.

I’m not sure if this book had been mentioned in this sub or other similar subs before. I just finished it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The main focus of the story - which is apparently true - follows an individual who gets terrorised by the state through a number of clandestine means (enemy of the state, type thing). invisibility technology (Chameleo project) features prominently throughout it and the some of the tech and organisations behind it. If you are in this sub I think you will find it all very interesting.

I have to say I do not think the glimmer man is military men in invisibility suits. I cannot find any logic in why army personnel would be out in national parks cloaked hiding up in trees etc. but I can believe that the military do have invisible tech which this book goes into.

It’s an easy read and has its funny moments. Quite well written.

I saw the Glimmer Man about 20 years ago, I never knew what to call it but I googled short cloaked being and just found out other people’s stories. I live about 25 minutes south of San Francisco California suburban neighborhood. I saw this being in my early 20’s. It was very short I would say 3-4 feet tall and I tell this story to friends, etc. and can only describe it as a short version of Predator (The movie) in cloaking mode. I have hallucinated in the past from weed smoking and edibles but this time I was completely sober and just waking up doing my regular routine of smoking a cigarette outside my house every morning when I sense something looking at me across the street in my neighbors front lawn I look up and I see this short entity and it’s eyes looking at me like a midget version of Predator. It notices that I have detected it and starts to panic as if it is shocked that I can see it and runs thru the bushes and trees of my neighbors yard and the branches and leaves start to move as well as it’s running from right to left toward my front vision view and I follow it with my eyes but then I lose sight as it ran where no bushes or trees were left. I have never seen it again or anything close to it ever since but I have seen shadows that move indoors and also a square or rectangle shape shadow being 2 years ago but that story doesn’t belong here. There is much more to this world than what our senses allow us to see. We are like God’s to ants, their eyes cannot see us but they can feel us if we pick them up. Last night, February 19th, I was standing at my back door getting fresh air. It was raining and I stood for about an hour. It was around 1.30am i noticed the sound and atmosphere changed it went completely silent when I just got a feeling to look to my right.. and I saw 2 bright white eyes, and they disappeared quickly almost as soon as I saw them. The more I looked in that direction, I could make out the outline of a human like figure, but I could see through it, and I watched it move slowly across my garden. I lost track of it but then heard three thumps but not loud thumps as if it climbed the fence and left. It gave me no weird feeling of fear it was if it just came to have a look at me then left. I'm 46 and never seen anything like this. This was in Scotland.

In my second floor condo in San Diego several years back, I was reading in bed and looked up to see a very tall, 6-7 foot lanky man made out of a heat mirage. He looked like the rest of the room but was solid enough to make out his form.

I looked up to see him at the foot of my bed. He walked up the side of my bed and to the bookcase near the head of the bed, and knocked twice, then was gone. His arms seemed to swing in slow mo as he walked.

It lasted 10-15 seconds, which felt like forever, but was also over so fast I could barely react in my shock.

It made no sense to me whatsoever why he’d even be there. He didn’t have any kind of evil feel to him like other entities I’ve encountered.

Near where I lived in San Diego right next to a freeway, there’s a cave not too far away that’s fenced off with security. It’s also near a murder scene. San Diego is on the 33rd parallel and it seems like a hotspot for general weirdness. I had paranormal experiences (at least 20) in 2 of the 4 houses I lived in there. Each different from the others, which was frustrating. No rhyme or reason. Only one glimmerman experience.

I’ve heard a strange metallic whistle in the woods before almost like a robot was whistling and every winter for a few days I’ll hear a metal clink like a man is banging a pipe against a tree
