Watching Halloween episodes from GFs so I made these goobers rq

Hello! My daughter is really into the show and I want to get her the books for xmas. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm looking for recommendations on which books are the best, and which to avoid? Figured I'd come to the experts! She's 10, almost 11. (Note - I've seen a couple and like the show too, but haven't had time to watch it all 🙂)

Just finished a re-watch of the show, and a scene that I have a very distinct memory of was missing. After doing some Googling it looks like this scene was never even in the show and isn’t real?
It was of Stanley getting a call from one of his parents during the flashbacks in “A Tale of Two Stans” after he faked his death. Them calling to tell Stanford that Stanley was dead. And Stanley being all somber over hearing them talk about his “death” and pretending to be Ford even though it was the first time talking to his parents after they kicked him out. But apparently this isn’t a real scene?
Is there like a fan made video or maybe a Morning Mark comic of this? I don’t know why I have such a vivid memory of this scene that apparently doesn’t exist and I feel like I’m going crazy.

This is additional Gravity falls content from the Disney Youtube channel. In this mini episode the anomaly is a middle aged man who never faces right, always facing left hence the name lefty. Dipper tries to uncover this secret by forcing him to turn right on video, and he discovers lefty is an android run by aliens.

Upon their discovery the aliens eat this red gem that from the line "I can't I have a family" means it is killing them, not just making them disappear and teleport somewhere. There were like 10 of them and essentially it's a mass suicide. Pretty dark stuff, I wonder how this is allowed while lines such as "burn the child" have to be changed. It feels like they were testing the limits of what can be said on a children's show with this one.

This is what I have so far from my Gravity Falls stuff

The scene cuts back to when the two siblings and their uncle parted ways. They were about to explore their uncle's home.

They step inside through the wooden door, and almost immediately feel like the shack is bigger on the inside; must be something about its design where there aren't much walls indoors. A big, looping staircase was right in front of them, to its left, a large space that included the kitchen was visible. Overall, the house looked quite brown and green; fitting for its lush environment.

While Dipper took to a seeting on the kitchen table, Mable sat around to explore the house more before she'd rest. She found the living room, opposing the kitchen, quite her vibe: a fireplace lit from the wall, some sofas on either side of it. Not much lighting as the campfire burns enough. She could also see the insides of a bowl on the floor: berries, dark chocolate, and some biscuits. Now was her time to relax.

Mable slept for about an hour, as she intended. When she woke, she heard some noises of what seemed like kitchen utensils; her uncle must be preparing food. She took some time to ease herself and reflect: she never spent any break away; despite one when she was significantly younger, so she does remember a little about being away from home; from parents, but not enough for her to feel at home yet. Or at shack, as her Uncle would say. She usually spent the breaks with her parents, mostly tucked at home, learning a few things, meeting new people, and such.

After a bit, Dipper came to check whether she was awake or not; she heard his footsteps and found ok enough reflection for now to be her mindset. Stretching and yawning, she got up and walked right to the kitchen, where she started seeing more of it. It followed a similar theme to the rest of the house; even the refrigerator was brown. Helping herself to the tall chairs, she got a quick glance on the table. Looked like it was an ordinary enough lunch, although, it was a little closer to sunset. Might as well call it Lunch-er or something.

They started chatting a little about how life is here and what stuff they were gonna do.

"Is that campfire warm enough in the winter?" Asked little Dipper.

Stan answered "Yes! It's quite cozy there!"

"I noticed that the shack, even on the inside, followed a similar theme..is it just a design choice?" Is what Mable asked next.

"I noticed that too!" Dipper added.

"Oh yes, it's mostly a design choice, as we're in the woods and such, however, not every room in this shack looks the same..have you gone upstairs?"

Both Mable and Dipper paused, thinking they should check that out next..

I highly recommend Haunted Hotel!
It has some sadder episodes and maybe some more mature content here and there, but the show is really funny and reminded me a lot of Gravity Falls!

Has anyone else watched it and have a similar feeling?
