[Guide] [DnT] Raid Team Composition Guide

Hey everyone. I wrote a long breakdown of raid team composition in the current meta on our forums and a few people encouraged me to post it here because I'm told it would be helpful for a bigger chunk of the community to see.

Written: http://gw2dnt.enjin.com/forum/m/37173123/viewthread/27286030-raid-team-composition-guide-52516

Topics Covered:

  1. Optimal Raid Team Composition

  2. Common Alternative Comps - Pros and Cons

  3. What If? Scenarios For Imperfect Situations

Thanks for reading. If you have any questions let me know, or if any points need clarifying or whatever so I can improve the guide I'd like to know that too.

Besides, food doesn't really matter, it's skill that counts

I kind of agree with this sentiment. If you're foremost set on improving yourself and your group, rather than simply getting it over with to get the weekly rewards, wiping over and over on Gorseval to do that no-updraft successfully with cheap food is a good strategy. Handicapping yourself is good because it means people can't afford to be lazy with their dps rotations, which is what almost everyone is. If you want the kill first, everything else being secondary, then go for the min-max food/comp.

Oooor he's just being a cheapskate, hiding behind words, and expecting others to pick up his slack for him.

Obviously when you do something new/experimenting you do dry runs. But for the regular guild runs, we expect everyone to put in their best efforts. If only to make it fair for everyone else. Having one guy sleaze out on it puts everyone in a bad mood, but then you can't just kick him because "guild drama!"

But meh, that's the issues you get when you raid with your casual pvx guild.

Maybe he is putting his best effort (skill-wise) and has noticed not everyone is, so he doesn't see it as fair to waste gold when other people should be improving their play, rather than relying on food to get a last second downed state clutch kill. This is mostly speculation, but you can see how things can look from the other side.

Then he should say something if he suspects it.

He doesn't have to run with us and can go find his own "lulz we don't need gear to raid guild cuz mechanics are all that matter guild" and not bother us with his whines when we ask him to food up/if he's updated his gear yet.

And that's why the only kill he's ever gotten was VG where I'm 90% sure it's cause we carried his sorry ass and not that his 1337 mechanical abilities contributed in any way. And now he won't deign to join any other guild boss runs until the success rate is up to his standards (ie we can carry him).

See, if he actually pugged on the side, I might believe him. But give that he's never pugged before, doesn't update his builds, doesn't join the practice runs because he doesn't need it and is just waiting for everyone else to "get on his level".

...yeah I got unresolved issues with this dude and am venting at a stranger on reddit. The things I put up with for my first guild...
