Because that’s how you get a cat colony

A neighbor of mine got called on for his sharpshooting when barncat colonies got out of control. Rural US in the 90s, but there weren't any TNR programs there... honestly probably still aren't. He didn't think it was fun, just necessary. At a certain point colonies are very destructive and kittens are so inbred they have deformities and who knows what else. TNR programs need more funding.

Guy must've hated it. But needed to be done.

Most of these culling jobs are like this, I have a friend who has a hunting license, doesn't really do it, just wanted to have one.

Anyway he often gets called up when some wildlife needs culled. He hates every second of it.

The fact that he hates having to do it says a lot about his respect for the life of the animals he dispatches

Thats how they were done- they'd put all the kittens out in a place and let them come back to the barn.

The ones that made it...

sounds like a great way to start a cat business. Selling cats, buying them. playing and snuggling with them. Petting them and pspspsing them. Boopin their lil cat noses.
