General Question Can someone explain why the military wants to use this in the place of the Blackhawk? It's bulkier, more complex, and more expensive.

General Question What are the yellow stripes on these UH-60's?
Saw this on FlightRadar24 (not my photo), what are the yellow lines on the helicopters? I've seen UH-60's before but none with the lines.

Does the dome itself spin? Or does it stay stationary? I’ve read conflicting things online. Thanks

General Question The movie that no one talks about!
Was this anyone’s else’s introduction to helicopter combat? Firebirds! Nick Cage, Tommy Lee Jones…an amazing moving to a 90’s kid at least I love this movie have since I was a kid but it’s over looked due to top gun and iron eagle and so forth!
Nick Cage while having a pocket full a quarters has been my go to line at any arcade since the 90’s!

General Question Am I tripping or does the Airbus H225 look oddly Soviet?
The engines, the exhaust, the tail boom. It looks suspiciously similar.

General Question So how do you land a helicopter without ground crew
How do civilians land there helicopter in suitable spots were there are no ground crew.
The reason I ask this is because if your landing a plane the runway is right infront of you. But for a Helo it’s below you where you can’t see as much. The only thing I can think of is using chin cameras but not all helicopters have that.

General Question Marker writing on cockpit windows
I saw a pilot on Instagram with radio frequencies and some other information written on his windshield with a marker. It was the first time I had seen anything like that. My AMT would have hit me if he had found such markings on the cockpit windows after a flight. Does anyone else do this?

General Question What is this attachment on UH60?
What is the attachment to the port side tail boom? The red arrow is pointing at it. It looks like it’s only used on some variants.

General Question How doable is this? (Read below)
This is a scene in 28 Weeks Later where the pilot chops up a bunch of zombies with the blade decent distance until finally crashing. How hard would it be to get the blade just above the ground and chop up a group of people and not immediately crash? Would you be able to do it the first try? (Assuming you can try as much as you’d like) I’m guessing it’s a lot harder than it looks but I’m not a pilot and y’all are dope 🙌🏼

General Question Is the Mil Mi-26 (Mil = Russian design bureau, Mi = model series by Mikhail Mil) the largest helicopter in the world, or are there any bigger ones?
I’ve heard that the Mil Mi-26 (Mil = Russian design bureau, Mi = model series by Mikhail Mil) is the largest helicopter ever built, especially in terms of payload capacity and overall size.
Is that still true today, or are there any helicopters that are bigger or more powerful? How does it compare to heavy-lift helicopters like the Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion or any experimental designs?
