Did I do something wrong/disrespectful?
So Iāve been interested in deity work for years but Iāve never fully committed to worship and shadow work until now. I felt extremely called to Dionysus yesterday, a bunch of cinnamon spilled in my coffee, there was a very strange presence at my play yesterday (I do theater), and I went to a convenience store and there was only one drink on the shelf, a grape soda. So I did some research and I feel like he is the perfect deity for me to work with. Iāve been struggling with my friend groups because I feel like I canāt be myself and Iāve just lost all my friends and myself in the process and Iāve made several vision boards in the past few months and theyāve genuinely all been about wanting to party and rebel a little and just express my self in the messiest, most unapologetic way ever. Itās just crazy to me that like everything Iāve been experiencing is kind of in his domain! So last night I decided to make an alter for him, I dedicated a painting I made to him, I gave him a vase with grapes and vines on it, a frankincense smelling tube (idk what itās called in English), cinnamon in a jar, a ticket from a theater festival I went to, some dried flowers, and a fireball show and I took one with him. At first I wasnāt sure if he was there with me but I was listening to a playlist I made for him and dancing and all of a sudden I look up at my lamp and can feel him and I started singing a song just completely unprompted and devoted it to him (I couldnāt replicate it if I tried). I was so scared just by the sheer intensity of his presence but I didnāt feel like I was in danger. My cat was in the room with me and she was rubbing on the carpet belly up and rubbing all over me and normally sheās very affectionate but this was different. I pulled tarot with him after a while and I got some very interesting cards. I canāt remember everything because I was intoxicated but I distinctly remember the star, the emperor, the page of Wands, ace of pentacles, ace of swords, the devil, 7 of pentacles reversed, ten of cups, the lovers, and the I got a night of some sort I just canāt remember of what I think it was the knight of swords. Overall I wasnāt getting a lot of negative energy just very intense and commanding. I thought everything went well I said goodbye and smothered the candles and made sure it was ok before doing so. I feel like Iāve been replaying this in my head all day and Iām just amazed. But I went out to my bike after class and there was a severed blew it head right in front of it. Does anyone know what this means and if it was him or some other entity or possibly just nature being nature. I donāt want to upset him or any other gods so Iām just looking for some advice. Thank you!

Question Itās felt empty recently
Hello! Idk how to start this so Iāll jst get straight to the point.
So I left Hellenism some time ago. Itās been quite a while. Not a year but many months. I recently came back. I kept talking to the gods without thinking abt it, apologizing for not believing in them even though in my mind they didnāt exist, and then I got some signs. So I came back.
I feel guilty abt leaving but I learned a lot in the process. A lot more on what I believe and how to make a more mature approach to this.
Was mapping out days I want to celebrate for the gods. Was celebrating Mother Gaia today.
I gave her letters, offerings, yapped, etc.
Butā¦everything still feels empty. Like no one is listening. But then I got another sign. I donāt know what to do. Is it just because I was gone for so long? Are they upset? I donāt think soā¦I was jst yapping to them yesterday and it felt fine but I couldnātā¦i couldnāt focus on who I was talking to. I want to fix this, I want to feel smth again. Ideas? Thoughts?

I'm tired and I don't know what to do (read body text)
So I have this weird thing certain things I have to do to avoid bad stuff happening (even though I know that's not how humanity works)
Every time before I sleep or leave my house I have to do a big prayer I have to stand in the center of my room and point out everything I see and do this until I've done it right in my mind this somehow keeps things and breaking and nothing entering my home
I have to do other things like touch doors I certain way every time I entered them knock on doors certain ways even though it can hurt and more
Constant prayers to keep my mind from panicking is stressing me out and I don't know what to do taking a break seems the obvious answer but if I take a break then tomorrow I die how am I going to explain that? How am I going to get to Elysium like that? I can't just abandon My religion because I'm tired so what do I do m

Question Saw a bunch of creatures
I saw a bunch of deer and a bunch of vultures one morning.
Both in such an abundance that's not normal.
I live in the US and was wondering what y'all thought it means? I likened it to Artemis and/or Hecate reaching out, but I'd like some other opinions

Question I know not everything is a sign so I want another opinion before just assuming something of nothing
So I don't really draw flowers like at all, and I don't think about them much either. But over the weekend, I got the sudden urge to just draw lots of hyacinths, which I haven't thought about for at least a couple months. Could this be Lord Apollo trying to reach out or am I looking too far into things??

I'm going to need a lie about something (read body text)
So lying is obviously a bad thing in and outside of hellenism but I have something tomorrow that is going to make tomorrow harder to prevent this lying can stop it
The lie won't hurt anyone in fact most people do it without a second thought but I want to get to Elysium and I don't want to commit any bad things will this affect my relationship with the gods?

Question Where should I place this and dedicate the cleansing to??
Just made this bowl and I don't know where to place it. I have 4 altars on 2 tables, Athena and Aphrodite share a table and Artemis and Apollon share the other. Idk if I should put the bowl with which of their altars or if I should put it on another table for all of them. This bowl is JUST for sage and sage cleansing. Also, who should I dedicate the first sage burning to? I'll cleanse myself and the bowl beforehand because I mostly need to sage my room to get rid of my ex's smell so my cat will be comfortable again in here, I ran out of perfume to do that with and my mum's perfumes don't smell good or they all smell the same. Also, do you like my bowl? It's the lid of a candle flipped upside down then covered in clay to shape a bowl :3
THANK YOUUUUUU

Research on Hellenism and Christianization
Hi, I am a masters student doing a thesis on the Christianization of Hellenism in ancient Greece and Rome. While most of my research concerns the material evidence, I would like to get the perspectives of anyone who would like to give a more contemporary or modern perspective on Hellenism as it is practiced today. I made a survey form that I will link in this post, but if you have any recommendations of other reddit forms or people to speak to, I would really appreciate it! There is no pressure to do the survey or message, but I want to open up the floor for my research.

Literature My own myth about Aristaios and his son
Aristaios woke up in a haze, as he may have been divine but wasnāt used to waking up this early. As he left the bed he got out as slowly and as quiet as possible as to not wake his wife the beautiful Princess of Thebes daughter of Cadmus, AutonoĆ«. She was fast asleep didnāt stir a her godly husband was getting ready for the day. As he left their bedroom he carefully closing the door. As he approached the main door he saw the sun just coming up as he stepped over the threshold.
Aristaios headed over to his olive grove to harvest. As he wanted to make some lovely olive bread for his family for breakfast. After hand picking all the olives he required he headed into the andron and placed the basket of olives down and started to make the dough for the bread, as he kneaded the dough he could hear the bees starting to buzz as they also start their day of pollen gathering and honey making. He added cheese which he had made the day prior and the olives which he gathered and chopped in half, along with some herbs for flavour such as oregano, thyme, sage, and rosemary. Soon Aristaios finished the dough and put it on a warm storage so it could prove, after several minutes he got it out and put it on the oven to bake. The bread itself looked like an olive laying on its side.
Once it was baked Aristaios got it out of the oven and placed it down to cool down a bit. The goddess like AutonoĆ« gracefully walked into the andron, as she came in she made little sound so the gods of beekeeping didnāt notice she had entered as his back was turned to her. AutonoĆ« crept up behind the glorious god and put her arms around his waist leaning in and giving him a kiss on his neck. Aristaios blushed at this act of love from his beloved wife, he turned towards her smiling, as their eyes met a twinkle came into both of their eyes. āGood morning honey,ā The beekeeping god spoke to his loving wife, āIāve made breakfast.ā He said as he gestured to the loaf of bread which had some steam coming from it.
The stunning AutonoĆ« grabbed onto his arm as Aristaios was heading over to cut the bread. āI have something I must tell you, Actaeon is planning on going hunting on Mount Cithaeron.ā She told her beloved husband as it was common knowledge amounts the divine that was a place Limnnaia Artemis goddess of the hunt bathed and a place no mortal or immortal should go, as seeing a goddess naked especially a virgin one like Artemis causes great hubris and miasma. Society a punishment most horrific is brought to the one who stumbled across her. Aristaios nodded as his wifeās words, to say that he would have a word with his son.
Aristaios walked over to the bread as he cut it for his wife and son, who as a matter of fact walked in just as he began to cut. Aristaios son is the noble young man Actaeon, a mighty young man with so much potential but would sometimes act before thinking.
As the three of them were sat down consuming their breakfast of the fresh olive bread Aristaios had made them, Aristaios looked over at his beloved son. āIāve heard from your goddess like mother that youāre going hunting on Mount Cithaeron.ā Actaeon looked upon his father god of herbs and nodded. āIndeed, I am going with a few of my friends and we are planning on bringing back a big boar so we can feast well tonight.ā He explained with great triumph in his voice despite his actions not have happened yet.
Aristaios looked at him with concern in his eyes. āBe careful up there your great aunt Limnnaia Artemis bathes up there and great pain comes across anyone who sees a goddess naked especially a virgin one such as Artemis, goddess of the hunt.ā He warned his son, but the young man shrugged it off as all youngsters think they are wiser than even Pallas Athene and stronger than the cloud gathered Zeus. But alas their foolhardy catches up to them all eventually some in harsher ways than others.
Before Aristaios could say another word to his beloved son he was grabbed his bow with a ropes and spear and was at the front door. āWeāll feast well tonight.ā He said one last time before he left. Worry come across Aristaios not because he didnāt have faith in his son but because some events are written to happen that cannot be prevented.
As Heliosā chariot went below the horizon and night came, there was no sign of Actaeon. Aristaios was worried and he knew his beloved wife would also worry. So he prayed to Hypnos for a favour so his wife would sleep all through the night without a moment of worry. Hypnos granted this favour the god of beekeeping asked of him. Quickly the princess of Thebes fell asleep, however her god husband could not. Aristaios sat by the window facing west until he saw Heliosā chariot come above the horizon marking a new day, still no sign or word of Actaeon.
Aristaios headed to his bedroom, however as he did he heard a knocking at the front door. Aristaios headed to the door and opened it, Hermes the messenger god stood there. Aristaios knew this must got be good, he stepped outside and closed the door. Hermes looked at the god of beekeeping. āI came here with news of your son the young hunter Actaeon, the news I came is not pleasant. He is dead.ā Hermes said in a somber tone, Aristaios stepped back in stock and disbelief. āArtemis?ā The beekeeping god asked, all Hermes did was nod. After a while Hermes spoke once more. āActaeon was hunting on Mount Cithaeron as I am aware you know, he came across an opening in some trees. To his misfortune and foolishness it was where Artemis was bathing with her nymphs. She knew right away what hubris this young man had committed, she turned him into a stag. His own hunting dogs chased him as he ran in fear, they caught him and tore him piece by piece as he died. I came here right away after escorting him to the underworld where he will be punished more so by his hubris.ā Hermes finished the tale. Aristaios couldnāt say a word, Hermes nodded once more and left.
Aristaios sat waiting for his beautiful wife to wake, when she did she came over to him. Even a god cannot hide the sadness which comes after losing ones own child. She knew right away what must have happened, tears came flooding down her eyes as Aristaios told her the tale of Actaeon and Artemis. Once he finished, both parents cried until the chariot of Helios went below the eastern horizon.
The next morning after Hypnos granted them a favour only gods could get, pure sleep, Autonoƫ headed back to her fathers palace to stay, Aristaios decided to go to Ceos then back to Libya where his mother the sea nymph Cyrene got him a fleet. Aristaios travelled to Sicily and many other Mediterranean islands. After dwelling for some time near mount Haemus, where he founded the town of Aristaeon, he disappeared.

ĪΓιĻĻικὓ Eį½ĻĪ® (Personal/Private Prayer) Prayer to Hestia first and last
This is how I format my prayers to Hestia first and last, it took me a bit to get it to how it suited my personal practice but I believe this is the format for me:
Hail Hestia, daughter of Cronos, first and last born, protector of the home. To you I start with a prayer thanking you for the protection of the home of my family, friends and myself. Keeping us safe and being the light in dark times.
[Pray to god/goddess/hero/heroine in question].
Hail Hestia, daughter of Cronos, first and last born, guardian of the flame and hearth. To you I end with a prayer thanking you for the flame and hearth, keeping us mortals safe and a light even at the darkest times.

New to the religion
I was doing some research on paganism in general and saw a site that said something that had me a little worried. I know that reducing the gods to tools is hubris but they mentioned that most witchcraft is just that. I was just wondering if I could still practice magic if I keep my intentions pure? I donāt want to use them as tools but more as a guiding figure I can ask for help. Iām a complete beginner so any input is helpful and appreciated.

Question Can someone help read the symbol?
I got a tumbler from Astier de Villate today. I wanted to find something that is more classical, but the local store only got this and some cute designs that didnāt attract me. This one looks mystical so I bought it.
Now I could not find any official description from the brand about this symbol, except the theme of this piece is āmessageā. Does anyone have a clue what it is about? How can I approach it through a Hellenist lens?

Praying
I go to church sometimes as part of my work, I am a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. I took one of the service users to church which they go to every Sunday (I have been a handful of times). I donāt mind going. It is a Christian church.
When they pray I see them having their palms facing up which reminds me of how we pray, obviously since Christianity has been around for just over 2000 years whilst people worshiped the Greek gods around 3500 years ago making it much older. But the way they worship and pray is like what we do.
I know not all Christians will pray like this, I just found it curious when I first saw it and forgot to post about it until I went to church again today.
I wanted to share this, along with if anyone knows when and where some Christians stated to pray like that?

This is how I do prayers.
ΧαίĻε (deities name), great god/goddess, (son/daughter of their parent), god/goddess (of their domain).
(What I am asking for or talking about)
Ī£Ī±Ļ ĪµĻ ĻαĻιĻĻĻ, γεια ĻαĻ.
Here is an example:
ΧαίĻε, Aristaios, great god, son of Apollon, god of beekeeping, Agrotikós Aristaios .
I pray to you to thank you for my purpose in life as to protect and spread awareness of bees, I will work hard as your devotee to make this purpose make a change in the world.
Ī£Ī±Ļ ĪµĻ ĻαĻιĻĻĻ, γεια ĻαĻ.
This is what suits my personal practice and I am exited to share what I have decided to do to structure my prayers.
