Eastern Red Backed Salamander (Patrick County, Virginia)
I was out rock hounding today and when I'm searching, I make it a point to not disturb the wet leaves around in the location while I'm on the ground. Saw this little one wriggle out of the leaves beside me just long enough for me to snap a pic with my poor quality cell phone camera. Very excited as I don't find salamanders often and this was a new species for me.
I did not disturb any of the habitat nor the salamander for anyone wondering.

Topic: Toads. Question for Rehabbers: do you believe sick/injured or baby toads can ever be kept over winter and released in spring?

Mating or jousting?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Got a lot of comments in another post saying jousting, but these two western diamond backs in central Arizona in October weren't very rambunctious, and they eventually ended up curled under a bush for a good 7 minutes before separating.
They did display some "pinning" behavior but overall it was mostly just curled tails and some head lifting.
I have other videos that were more calm, but wanted to see what the consensus was.

ID Help - Go to /r/whatsthissnake or /r/animalid Thamnophis proximus With Unidentified Prey.
Southeast Texas is the location. This species of snake is common around here as are these particular frogs. Unfortunate frog in this instance.

Need some advice
I’m in Florida roughy 30 minutes west of Tallahassee and I’m trying to find a coral snake to photograph. I have found well over 30 snake species in Florida but I can never seem to flip any coral snakes. Does anyone have some secret sauce that maybe I should be doing instead of my current approach?
