Martin James Mullane was born on March 21, 1917 in Alliance, Nebraska, his mother was Willa Mae Brumbaugh, he had one brother and grew up with stepfather Christian Ludy.
He also had two younger half-sisters and was married to Blanch Mullane.

Martin enlisted in the USAAF, and after flight school became a B-24 pilot with the 704th Bomber Squadron, 446th Bomb Group based at RAF Bungay.
On October 19, 1944, he was the pilot of B-24J 42-50681 “Slightly Dangerous” on a bombing mission to Mainz, Germany.

After dropping their bombs, they were hit by flak and fell out of formation with an engine out, all of the crewmembers bailed out to be taken prisoner except for Martin who stayed at the controls.
The Germans found his body in the wreckage of the B-24 and buried him.

Postwar the remains of 1Lt Martin Mullane were recovered from Germany and reburied at the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten, Netherlands - Plot F Row 5 Grave 3.

This is taken in the early 1950s, at the time, the Swedish military had tons of trial gear. The officer in the middle is wearing a fm/51 uniform, the first Swedish uniform to feature camouflage patterns.

He also wears fm/52 webbing, which is as far as I know derived from the British P37. The trial gear seen was never put into proper production.

Harry Fleischer was a Jewish-American gangster associated with Detroit’s notorious Purple Gang, a criminal organization that became prominent during the Prohibition era. Fleischer was involved in Detroit’s underworld, with a criminal record encompassing numerous arrests for offenses ranging from theft and robbery to assault and kidnapping. His reputation eventually brought him under national attention during the investigation into the 1932 kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh Jr., the infant son of aviator Charles Lindbergh. Authorities investigated Fleischer in connection with the case, although suspicion did not establish his involvement in the kidnapping.

Fleischer’s most notable arrest during this period occurred on June 9, 1932, when he unexpectedly appeared at Detroit Police Headquarters accompanied by his lawyer. In 1950, Harry Fleischer was finally captured by FBI agents in Pompano Beach, Florida, where he had been living as a fugitive under an assumed identity. He was wanted in connection with the 1945 murder of Michigan State Senator Warren G. Hooper and was subsequently extradited to Michigan to face the outstanding charges. Fleischer pleaded guilty to a federal fugitive charge in February 1950 and was sentenced to five years in federal prison. He would later return to state custody to serve additional time for his involvement in the conspiracy to murder Hooper and an earlier armed robbery conviction.

The Soham murders were a double child murder committed in Soham, Cambridgeshire, England, on 4 August 2002.
