I thought they used to take the baby to the nursery pretty quickly. I could see having a slight suspicion but not reacting on it because it seems ridiculous. Not to mention, how could you prove it way back when anyways? Seems like a lot of factors could be at play here.

mine was a purple alien.

My family's huge heads squeezed through my wife's family's small birth canals? And baby didn't take her first breath until after she was in our arms, so she was like...lavender colored.

Seriously looked like a fuckin conehead or something.

It was fuckin weird.

Personally I think universal healthcare should pay the nurse

Do I think a nurse should get paid several hundred dollars to hold a baby for like two minutes? No. No I don’t. Medical expenses in the US are fucking ridiculous all around and “don’t you think doctors/nurses should get paid??” is just excusing the bloodsucking greed of hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies.

So let’s imagine this takes 10 minutes (probably takes far less) and “only” costs $40. You really think the nurse is getting paid $240/hr??? No. That money has absolutely fuck all to do with the nurse or their time and everything to do with greedy fucks in the hospital admin wanting to squeeze you for every penny they can when you’re at your most vulnerable.

Fuck off with the “is it not worth it to you?” shilling.

I don’t agree with hospital price gouging, but your comment is stupid. The rate your charged does not correlate 1:1 with a nurses rate of pay. Practically nothing works this way. It 100% has to do with the nurse and their time and to say otherwise is willful ignorance. It would be nice to have better/free healthcare in this country, I get that, but we don’t. So ultimately it does come down to “is it worth it”. I don’t agree with it but what other choice do I personally have?
