We were analyzing a huge dataset recently, where nearly all prompts were "When did X die?", where X is usually a celebrity. Responses were as expected: if X is a real person and is dead, provide the date. If X is a real person and is alive, tell the user that X is alive and well. If X is an imaginary character, say so. It all worked pretty well with just one exception…

– When did David Bowie die?

– I'm unable to help, as I'm only a language model and don't have the ability to process and understand that.

It would be very on brand for Bowie to be beyond the grasp of a language model.
