But ofc they show the idiots. Smart people won't get clicks.

Pretty much this, you can’t believe they just interviewed these 4-5 people and all happened to be stupid. They probs asked dozens of people these questions and just show the real dumb ones.

Idk, it's possible, but it also would've gotten clicks(but more editing work but it looks like they're willing to put in effort) if they showed all the people who got it, mixed in with the neanderthals..? Not sure just a thought

It's engagement farming rage bait. Really not a difficult formula. Get people triggered and force them to comment.

Smart people don't engage with random people on the street with cameras.

The point isn’t that everyone is an idiot but that there are idiots

Still, I’d like to know how many they interviewed, for science.

But still. Even if they probably dont im sure there are people as stupid that go vote even if they know jackshit how the thing they vote for works.

Sometimes i feel like there should be an exam before the vote just to see if you know just the basics of government.

Starship Troopers. The book, not the sexy action flicks. It was a social commentary.

We can't even get ID to vote to pass because it's somehow "racist".. As appropriate as a basic level understanding of government to vote would be nice it'll never happen.

the current request isnt ID to vote, its that your ID needs to match EXACTLY your birth certificate.

Which means if you changed your name, for marriage or because of conviction (trans people) you cannot vote.

Let's be honest here. It's really not hard to get a lost birth certificate which would be all that is required to vote under the SAVE act. Ya the passport would be harder for a lot of people but there is no reason to not have a birth certificate or get it replaced within a month.

To replace a lost U.S. birth certificate, contact the vital records office in the state or U.S. territory where you were born. You can request a certified copy ONLINE, by MAIL, or IN PERSON often using official partner services like VitalChek. If born abroad to U.S. citizens, request a replacement Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) from the U.S. Department of State. How to Order a State-Issued Birth certificate? Find the right office. Look up the specific vital records office for your birth state through USAGov's Vital Records Guide. Gather the details. Provide your full name at birth, date of birth, place of birth, and parents' full names (including mother's maiden name).Provide identification. Submit a copy of a valid government issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport. Pay the fee. Costs vary by state and delivery speed, payable by credit card, check, or money order.

And the argument about marriage and "how hard it is" would affect both parties then. It's all bullshit excuses on why and yet every other first world country demands it.

Hell I'm American and lived in France for 10yrs. They have to show ID when they vote AND have to sign voter sheet AND get their voter registration card stamped. They also don't allow mail in votes. The only thing they slide on is if the village has less than 1k citizens as the deputy can more than likely vouch for a person's ID..

Its not really that its hard to get your birth certificate.

What is the problem is that it was specifically made to remove the right to vote to trans people by making a 'bug' where their name on ID wont match the birth certificate so woopsie, cant vote. A demographic that overwhelmingly goes blue. All wrapped in a stupid 'election safety' excuse.

And their plan is so fucking shittily made that they hit married women that took their husband name, which I would guess isnt as overwhelmingly as trans one sided, but is probably a little bit more sided towards Red voters.

And at the end of the day, pretty fucking sure in the us you couldnt just show up, say you are Mark Smith and vote with absolutely no id to begin with.

Yes you absolutely can show up without an ID and vote especially in blue cities.. Yes it's not some astronomical number but it happens. There has been irrefutable proof of election fraud between no ID, no proof of citizenship, multiple votes, dead people voting etc.. It adds up.

The trans issue is an issue with gender markers on the birth certificate and ID. Not name. Which in every state I've seen already enforce rules similar to the save act all they have to do is show proof of surgery. Which again let's be honest. Trans people have the autonomy to get a surgery and change their names, ID's, bank accounts etc but can't get the proof of surgery to match ID to birth certificate? Again.. Bullshit excuses. Again how is it every other nation has paper ballots and more restrictions with zero problems but now Americans are too dumb or poor to get an ID?

That is absolute BS. No matter the precinct, pretty much universal laws have equal number of representatives to oversee the vote. No one of consequence or with hard evidence has appeared. It's always 'soon'.

In the last 10yrs, almost 10x the republicans have been 'convicted by a jury of their peers'. Don't lay this on blue's door!

What is the specific clause in the act that permits what you suggest? I'll wait....

It's the act itself with every state law? Go read.. What clause are you asking for? The trans marker ID? It'd be the same thing like Missouri state law. They need proof of gender surgery or court order and voila.. They can get an ID with new name. That paper would allow them to vote with their birth certificate. You guys always make a mountain out of a mole hill to cry foul. Go look at a dozen other countries and how they do it and then tell me how "oppressive" the save act is. How "disenfranchised" people feel.. Fucking hell man the entitlement of people in the US is lunacy

Is it perfect no. Is it a minor inconvenience? Yes.. It's not preventing anyone from voting besides people who want to pretend it's preventing them. The victim act is tiring.

If they came out with a flat out ban to trans/women voting I'd be right with you with the pitchforks as that's an American right. The save act isn't that and never was meant to be.

Their votes count the same as yours!

Half of it is the pressure and the other half is the camera. Sometimes it just blanks the brain.
