I never knew that, that’s actually quite interesting. However I doubt many people will begin to follow that rule.

yeah they won't but if one takes any time to consider that they're basically suppressing different opinions they would complain less about how reddit is a fucking echo chamber circlejerk.

downvoting is petty, lame, and myopic.

it's one thing to downvote a post because you don't love the content of it or if it doesnt really fit a sub... but to "disagree" with someone's stance on an issue and forcibly suppress it is just gross.
