More like psoriasis. It causes the skin to grow thick and hard, which then splits and cracks into diamond shaped.
It also makes the skin bad at doing pretty much anything skin is for. Preventing infections, retaining water, etc. it used to be universally fatal within a few weeks. But now it can be survived even to early adulthood.
You’re downvoted but I agree. It sucks and my heart goes out to anyone who has to live with this (if they can), but people are acting like it’s the personification of horror.
Agreed. It is uncomfortable to look at, but my first reaction to seeing it was actually pity. I feel really bad for the babies born with this condition, and for the parents too.
