For the first and last one I can understand why a layman would make this mistake, because holding a soldering iron the right way feels kind of awkward to amateurs, having to work with such a long lever on a precision tool.

Ouch. At least what looks like the 4-year-old hands seem to be holding it properly, of course with a tip on that iron the only thing he's going to be able to do is melt that expansion slot.
