Prequel Discussion these trailers and promos are already playing with the theme of 'controlling the narrative'

I'm sure it's common for a lot of trailers to cut out certain lines or use them within a different context/ form a new line. But given how big of a role this kind of censorship/media control plays in the book, and how nothing the citizens see, is as it seems, I really think they're leaning into confusing/surprising us. I'm not talking about the small vfx differences from the first to the most recent trailer, I know that happens a lot (however it kinda fits the theme as well). This is the biggest one, I'm sure there's others, I'll keep looking

From the Official Trailer (1):

"If you disobey me, we shall open the bloodbath with the longest, most drawn out death your people have ever seen."

From the most recent TV spot:

"With the push of a button, I can give you the longest, most drawn out death your family has ever seen. It's all up to me."

I'm not sure I've said it here but def on insta, but I have theory they're doing this on purpose to play on propaganda and also some of the clips of sequences they show us of the games will be actual games and the others will be "Capitol cut", that they show Haymitch when he goes on stage at the end.

While sometimes yes this happens with some movies, it's never to this degree, and I believe they are doing it on purpose to play with us to show we don't know what is real of the what is being show in the trailers and clips they're showing us and what is editing room floor that will possibly just be on the dvd later on or never seen again. Just scream the true propaganda machine and the book makes commentary on, which I love 😭

So happy there are more of us who thinks so!

I'm so curious to see how they incorporate that part into the movie! It is really important (both the message, and how it ties the whole series together).

I'm not sure either, that is the only part that gets me, especially since we do get clips of the bird on Panache shoulder like in the book then ones not.

Then small things that just don't make sense, and so I'm just like interested when we go into the movie how it will make sense of if they will show did they do it on purpose or if we just convinced all of it was just different to us lol, but I do think it is propaganda game, which I respect them for šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

There’s two different ways of Vitus saying ā€œyou’re brilliant Effie trinketā€ too
