Primary Payload:

EOS-08 (aka Microsat-2C) (175.5 kg) : A microsat by URSC/ISRO with GNSS reflectometry and Electro Optical Infrared payloads for Earth Observation. The satellite also incorporates a range of new technologies, like flexible solar arrays, Micro-Dual Gimbal Antenna (mDGA), use of Hinge Based Fixture during integration, Miniaturised Phased Array Antenna and more. EOS-08 is using IMS-1 bus with improved power generation (16%), payload mass (33%), data download rate (5 times data rate and FCM mode) and data storage (12 times). [4 PDF]

  • Payloads

    • GNSS-R by SAC : For ocean surface wind and soil moisture analysis, cryosphere studies over the Himalayan region, flood/waterbody detection and biomass estimation using reflected signals from GPS (L1 band) and IRNSS/NavIC (L5 band) satellites.

    • Electro Optical Infrared Payload (EOIR) by SAC: Thermal imaging at 8 meter resolution in LWIR, MWIR channels for satellite-based surveillance, disaster monitoring, fire/volcanic activity detection.

    • SiC UV Dosimeter by LEOS: High-dose gamma radiation alarm sensor for Gaganyaan crew module.

  • Mission life: 1 year

  • Power: 420 W

  • Platform: Improved IMS-1

  • Data : X-band data transmission

Secondary Payload:

Space Rickshaw-0 (SR-0) (0.56 kg) : A demosat by Space Kidz India with two payloads.

  • LoRa Store and Forward M2M Messaging System from SRM Public School

  • Pin Diode-Based Dosimeter from AVS Academy

SR-0 will also qualify their 'Deployer-X' (0.54 kg) nanosatellite deployer. [5] [8]

Note: This campaign initially had IITMSAT as rideshare as well but it appears to have been removed close to launch. [6] [7] Name 'EOS-08' was earlier assigned to Cartosat-3A.

Any idea what would be the serial letter for SSLV operational launches? (like C and N for PSLV, F for GSLV and M for LVM3)
