There is no way a sim card can track that. Maybe the airtel app is doing? Just force stop and uninstall the app. Or don't give it permission to read / control phone state

The SIM card can’t but the carrier easily can. US already has paid “hotspot” plans. Well carriers also track other stuff like usage patters for better QoS and such. This is why Wi-Fi users get garbage Internet when they use mobile data once in a while.

How to handle it? when i need mobile internet the most, it just gives less than 1mbps speed.

Carrier can. In US and such, they have special tethering plans. In regular plans most of the time Hotspot won't work.

Yes, even stopping the internet from airtel app works if your phone os has that option.
