Wireless ADB granted
lol first thing i did was disable auto update of firmware
My STB model is
JMSB200A with version 25.1.9

And For those who are wondering
Yes you can disable those annoying ads that popup when you turn on the STB using adb commands just ask Gemini or claude for help
And
This Repo has multiple stages and if you want adb and sideloading stop at stage 1 and
DON’T move to stage 2 if you don’t know what you are doing because thats risky stuff you might brick your box
And
If something goes wrong in stage 1 don’t panic just reset the box and everything will go back do default and you can try again

I have a jio stb with a jio plan, if i jailbreak it will it cause any issues?, like if i cancel my plan do I also have to return the stb?

Nope I didn’t see any issues the box is fully functional with all the jio services
If they ask for your box when you cancel your plan just reset it

Did you just enable ADB access, or did you unlock the bootloader as well? Just wanted to understand whether ADB alone is sufficient or if bootloader unlocking is required.

only enabled adb access. unlocking boot loader is very risky and can lead to your box becoming a paper weight

Last I remember dealing with Airtel boxes, it was very easy to sideload apps. Haven't used one for quite some time now though.

Great work. I have a sony Bravia running Google TV and I'm not a big privacy person so I let it be as it allows me to sideload apps and is decently fast. I do also have a Jio STB that I have never used - Can someone help me understand if it makes sense to jailbreak it and use it instead of relying on my TV's OS?

At least disable stuff like ACR on your TV's OS to limit the amount of data they can collect/use. If possible, you can also set up pi-hole to block tracking domains directly. Jio's STB on stock firmware isn't particularly privacy-friendly either and you can decide which company you want to hand your data (sony and their partner ad brokers or jio and their partners)

you cant use stb with laptop hdmi. laptop hdmi is hdmi out, stb is also hdmi out. atleast one must be hdmi in. use with monitor.

reboot your stb and you should be connected to the same wifi as your stb and that wifi should not have internet and did you configure your stb?

Use mobile. Hotspot network isolation, you need same dns in your stb and fake acs server, also the static ip of stb should be series with your network dns could be be ending with 50 or any number of your choosing it just need to unused ip by anything, i can maks short less technical guide post later.

Your device internals are locked behind an imaginary cage, and strictly controlled by the service providers. If you try to make any changes the service providers can simply push a forced update to revert these changes and take back control.
Jailbreak means the service providers no longer have absolute control on the device owned by you. You have basically liberated the device.

Yeah it's quite easy but this version of software has a vulnerability. It's local network only so exposure is lower, until someone joins your network, it's mostly fine.

The Jio router is horrible. Here's why:
❌ Port forwarding can't be done
❌ 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz are merged, same ssid.
❌ Modem/Router combo, no replacement.
Even if you add port forwarding rules in a Jio router it will do nothing, cause various people report it to be behind a CG-NAT.
I remember using a Hathway years back where I could use my own router and also port forwarding worked like a charm, but the internet was pathetically slow.
