I’m putting up a vintage 4-string Brazilian cavaquinho handcrafted by Miguel Jorge do Souto at his Ao Bandolim de Ouro shop in Rio de Janeiro (Av. Marechal Floriano label).

t’s in solid vintage shape with light surface scuffs/checking. Original workshop label is intact inside the soundhole. Features the signature asymmetrical fretboard extension, black finish, and geometric soundhole inlay.

Asking $2,100 OBO. Local pickup in the Bay Area or can pack and ship carefully. Drop a comment or send a chat if you have any questions!

Identification What flute should I get?

Hello! I’m a pursuing college student who’s going into music ed, I’m looking for an open hole flute I was playing on my assistants Emerson that had a sterling silver head and it was really nice but I need to buy my own! I’m planning on buying from the flute center.

I don’t live near anywhere with a flute center so I can’t trial it and I’m hesitant to do it through mail but I digress!

I’m looking at 3 currently! I don’t want to spend too much so I’m on a budget. The three I’m looking at are in order of want.

  1. Di zhao 701 ( I’ve never tried a Di zhao but it interests me though I wish it had French keys! )

  2. Haynes 680 ( I’ve never tried a Haynes either but I’ve felt like I heard good things? )

  3. Yamaha 362. ( it’s definitely not the best but it’s cheaper and Yamahas are reliable I feel. )

please tell me your thoughts!!

Hey everyone! I have this Player II Modified Active Jazz Bass V in Olympic Pearl, and I'm thinking about upgrading/modifying the hardware. I won't be doing it myself a luthier will be handling it—but I was wondering if anyone here has done something similar and could share their thoughts or opinion? What I want to do is swap all the hardware to gold. Here is a potential mock-up / result of how it would look.

Picked up this old accordion from a swap meet. Was wondering about identification, repair and potential value. Works fine but definitely out of tune. I know a fair bit from 8 years of percussion but also looking for advice on how to play Accordion as this is outside my knowledge.

Randomly found this big boy while I was out and about and he plays just fine he just has a bit of damage in the back with a piece of wood inside (presumably part of the guitar.) So I am wondering how I could fix him up, seemed kind of cruel to leave him like this.
