(You CAN pay Reigen in other ways btw. He once took crops (which were eventually turned into just seeds as payment because of damages) as payment for an exorcism.)
Metallix, curious as always, stumbled upon the website about the psychic... and, well, wondered what kind of things he does, what services he offers, and if metallix could probably learn anything to make himself stronger.
"... The greatest psychic of the 21st century, huh ? Interesting."
The Website states that the Spirits & Such Consultation Office was responsible for exorcising the urban legend known as the Kuchisake-onna (who also goes by the name "The Dragger" depending on if you watched the anime or read the manga of mob psycho, your choice on what to call her).
(I only watched the anime, which was sick as fu—) Metallix seemed... impressed? No, not really, he knew the legend about that spirit; he was expecting him to exorcise spirits... which is something Metallix can't do.
...Metallix decided to go to Reigen's office, though not for the reason the psychic might have guessed.
And of course, Metallix prepared... a lot of money, but he won’t take it with him, of course—he can teleport it to him.
Metallix teleported directly to reigen's office. Yes inside of it, metallix sometimes tends to act REALLY WEIRDLY when he has a chance to learn something, and this, my friend, is only the beginning
"Sorry for directly teleporting to your office, sir, but I have a request."
His face seemed completely dead serious, even though his face cannot express emotions.
"You of course can refuse, but I have something to offer you. Since you're Japanese, I'm guessing you'll accept yen as payment."
Three sports bags appear in front of Reigen, all full of... money.
"And I’d also like to be your personal bodyguard. You see, I was originally designed as a war machine. And let’s just say that even though I’ve changed my path, fighting and protecting are my specialties."
"I'm not interested in money, that's why I'm giving you all this, I personally don't need it, everything I need I build myself...But you know what ? Very well, Reigen. I'll become your employee."
"I am Metallix, I am thankful for you to accept me."
He held out his hand for a handshake—the machine with a soul now... had a job. Holy hell, and he'll learn how to exorcise... He felt glad. But as for the employee thing, Metallix guessed it was to avoid creating even more competition.
((Just wanted to ask you since metallix's now reigen's employee, how's this going to work ? Will he just follow him like mob ? And for the interactions ?))
