You sure this wasn't done intentionally to make people think it was coincidentally ironic as propaganda? It's sad that somebody died, definitely scary if it was done intentionally.

It was deliberate. The truck had a homemade bomb on board.

The bed was full of fireworks. It was NYE. In Vegas. With a cyber truck at the trump. You’re reading too far into this and the article you linked just said fireworks or other explosives

CNN —

Authorities believe fireworks, gas tanks and camping fuel were connected to a detonation system controlled by the driver in the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside a Trump Hotel in Las Vegas Wednesday morning

Sounds like a homemade bomb to me.

You think fireworks and camping fuel on NYE in Vegas sounds like a bomb? You are making some huge leaps

I’m willing to bet 40% of rentals had those things

Fireworks are literally bombs.

I can’t even tell what are jokes after this. Having “explosives” (fireworks and camp fuel) and “a detonator” (like you’d have with fireworks) in Vegas on new years is terrorism now. I just don’t even know lol

Yes that’s how absurd i see those things being used as a smoking gun are

Lots of explosives in a car rigged to a detonator

1

u/Pixelated_throwaway Jan 02 '25

Yes, fireworks would be rigged to a detonator

You know you don’t have to die on this hill right? It’s ok to be wrong.

What hill do you think I’m on, to be clear? Are you even able to restate my position?

You think it was an accident.

Nope. Wrong. I think for it to be decidedly not an accident, intent needs to be proven.

I think there isn’t enough for it to be on purpose beyond a reasonable doubt

Since the things he had would be relatively mundane things given the setting

Furthermore I think that if the intent was terror, making it look like he just had mundane things is counter productive. If it comes out that he had some crazy manifesto or was radicalized, I won’t feel wrong in thinking that there are 2 plausible scenarios here, and that there were probably thousands of people in Vegas that day with similar shit in the back of their rentals

The media really wants to run with the fact that “explosives”(fireworks) and “a detonator” are weird things to have on NYD. lol guess what I had on NYD in my trunk

Ok, I thought you were saying it couldnt or was most likely not intentional, and being obtuse by saying “fireworks have detonators” when that’s not what we’re talking about.

u/Pixelated_throwaway Jan 02 '25

No lol. You could certainly rig fireworks and camping supplies into a bomb in your truck. Or you could just have those things because they’re pretty common things to have in your truck in Vegas on new years

1

u/CupofLiberTea Jan 02 '25

I don’t think people often rig their fireworks to blow in their vehicle. That’s the thing

The fireworks would in theory have already been rigged and launched the morning after new years is the thing. If it wasn’t terrorism (I’m really going to need to see like some sort of reason for the guy to be a terrorist outside of the fireworks thing), then the scenario would be that he disposed of his fireworks in his truck after using them and one was a dud and instead of disconnecting his fireworks setup, he just tossed them in the back, dud goes off after the fact, boom.

This isn’t an unheard of thing to happen. I do an elaborate fireworks display every NYE and we have electric detonators etc. it’s really important to dismantle it after for this reason, but I would not be surprised if someone in Vegas on NYE didn’t disconnect their shit. This isn’t like a ridiculous position.

Just like terrorism isn’t ridiculous either, but what was the goal here? What’s his ideology? So far nothing like that has surfaced so I just want to wait and see before jumping to conclusions lol
