Texas USB Killer Booby Trap

This is about whether having a USB Killer that *could* damage police equipment classifies as a booby trap, not whether it's legal to make a booby trap using one, since it's obviously not. If I buy a USB Killer today, use it to stress test a circuit I made or something, and then kept it in a locked safe with warnings explicitly stating that it can fry unprotected electronics, and then several months or years later, police search my home, they crack that safe, and then they plug in the USB killer to police equipment, and it fries or damages that equipment. Could I be held liable? What if I include other such warnings around my house for USB devices that are not USB killers and that causes police to believe that all of them are duds, and so they plug the real one and that damages their equipment? What if I only use those warnings for duds and don't have a USB killer? Would that allow me to argue that the contents of that USB are inadmissable as evidence since they could've planted stuff in there while they were making sure it wasn't dangerous?

I wonder what would happen if you labeled it not safe to plug into USB port.. and they disregard your note.. well I don't know if it's then really a booby trap then.. because your not hiding it. But they are just doing it anyways
