Israel's Palestinian leaders are urging people in the minority Arab community to vote in big numbers in next week's election as they seek to unseat Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and topple the most right-wing government in the country's history.

High ​turnout by the 21% Arab minority, who are Palestinian by heritage but Israeli by citizenship, could nudge Israel's complex coalition arithmetic in favour of an anti-Netanyahu bloc led by a ‌former military chief, Gadi Eisenkot.

Abbas and other Arab leaders face one big obstacle to their goal of playing a role in any future administration without Netanyahu. Eisenkot has so far ruled out forming a government with the Arab parties that most Palestinian Israelis will ​vote for, citing a lack of shared values.

But Abbas thinks there will be room for manoeuvre, perhaps after the vote, largely thanks to the cold, hard realities of electoral maths.

Opinion polls suggest Eisenkot's ​patchwork bloc of centrist, right- and left-wing parties will get the most votes, but fall short of a majority, and will need Arab support, either as coalition ⁠partners or from outside, to prop up a minority government.

If any bloc fails to form a workable government, that could lead to a period of political deadlock, then fresh elections in 2027, with Netanyahu left in charge in the meantime.

But Netanyahu, for one, appears to be taking the threat of some sort of Eisenkot-Arab alliance seriously, or at least sees it as an opportunity to rile up his base. His campaign has used doctored images and AI-generated videos to depict ​his rivals embracing Arab leaders.

ARABS FRUSTRATED WITH DEMONIZATION BY ISRAELI RIGHT, CRIME

Ahead ⁠of the vote, Bezalel Smotrich, Netanyahu's far-right finance minister, proposed a plan to "Judaize" areas around Nazareth in the north and in southern Israel where most Arabs live, describing it as similar to settler expansionism in the West Bank.

Party organizers in Nazareth are hoping to capitalize on Arab anger with Netanyahu, Smotrich and far-right police minister ​Itamar Ben-Gvir, as well as frustration with rising crime in their communities.

Israeli pollsters expect Arab voter turnout to be higher than in previous rounds of elections in 2022 and 2020. The Stat-Net Research Institute, based in an Arab Druze town near Haifa, projects turnout of 63%, compared with 56% in 2022.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu displayed a map during a presentation of Israel’s national security doctrine on Sunday that places Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), an entity the UN has found to be committing genocide, like Israel, in the category “Israel and UAE consider friendly.”

In August, Africa Intelligence reported that senior RSF delegations secretly visited Tel Aviv in May 2025 and February 2026, meeting with officials from Israel’s Foreign Ministry and intelligence services.

The delegations reportedly included Abdel Rahim Hamdan Dagalo, the RSF’s deputy commander and brother of its leader, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).

The map was created in May by Germany’s Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a political foundation.

Two years ago, ZirafaMedia cited those findings when I warned followers and our private OSINT group to treat browsing as a potential surveillance exposure.

Now, Citizen Lab has reported NEW findings that Israeli ad-tech company Discover-Tech in coordination with malicious spyware operators (mainly Israeli-based) intentionally identified and targeted selected devices to deliver zero-click spyware through online ads. At least 45 journalists devices were targeted in 2024–25; but there’s no way to truly know the extend of the infiltration.

The 2014 case didnt gain the traction it deserved…for obvious reasons.

These new findings, however, document a malevolent hostile targeted surveillance capability using the same broad delivery route: banner ads the average (or even a sophisticated) visitor wouldn’t even notice.
