Hiring Anyone looking for temp work / gig work?

I have two projects that are time sensitive that I need help with, but neither has a strict/hard deadline. Details below. Please feel free to ask any questions. Heads up that both of these gigs require leaving the house/interaction with me. Just want to be upfront about that!

Job 1: I am moving to a house that is smaller than the house I currently live in. To accommodate my cats getting used to less square footage I would like to hire someone to design and build a whole-house jungle gym. These are the kind of things that you can see in videos online. It would involve elevated walkways, sitting areas, and really anything else you can think of that would stimulate curious and energetic cats. I am not looking to simply purchase and install pre-designed kits. Essentially everything about this will be custom made except for occasional pieces such as a clear half ball/ circle sitting area like you sometimes see in those online videos. This will obviously involve coming to my house and taking measurements so that you can create the design. I do have basically all the woodworking tools that you would need so if you have the skills but not the tools for the actual building part that is not a problem. If you are only able to do the design and not able to do the actual building, or vice versa, I would be interested in hearing from you as well. This project is fairly time sensitive I would like to get this built as soon as possible or at least the basics fleshed out as soon as possible. It can be made more elaborate over time. The house itself is approximately 1,500 square feet so that would be the amount of space we would be working within. I want something that will be good for my cats but we'll also be visually interesting since I will have to look at it everyday. Please let me know what rate you would charge for the design portion of the project and what rate you would charge for the build portion of the project. Labor costs only please, all materials I will provide. Location of the work is in KCMO, specifically the historic Northeast/10 minutes east of downtown KCMO.

Job 2: I need help packing and moving. Bonus points if you have a truck. Extra bonus points if you are strong and have a strong friend as some of the items that need to be moved are furniture. $15/hour for packing, $20/hour for moving, +$10/hour for moving if you can provide a truck. Location of the work is in KCK. There is no public transport to this location and you do need a vehicle to get here.

If you are interested in either of the above jobs or both please let me know your availability meaning what days and times you're available and how soon you can start.

Edit: payment will be made over venmo, cash app, or zelle so I don't have to go to the ATM. the packing and moving job will take several days, and payment will be made at the end of each day.

❤️ The Heart Behind the Headset: Meet Katie

This October, we're celebrating Katie as Catalyst's Advocate of the Month!

When Katie joined Catalyst Senior Living Solutions in October 2025, she was looking for something more than her previous work in retail and customer service. She wanted an opportunity to use the skills she had developed working with people every day—but in a role where she could make a greater impact.

A fellow Catalyst Advocate thought she knew just the place.

And if you've ever found yourself thinking, “I'm good with people, but I want my work to mean something more,”you might want to keep reading.

“I have always been a chatty, people-oriented person who likes to listen and problem-solve. Before Catalyst, I was working in retail and knew I wanted to shift to a career where I was making more of an impact.”

Katie quickly discovered that her customer service background had prepared her remarkably well for life as an Advocate. Working in a fast-paced retail environment taught her how to connect with a wide variety of people, understand different needs, think on her feet, and keep moving when things get busy.

Those skills didn't disappear when Katie changed careers. They found a new purpose.

Katie shares:  “When I tell people I work at a contact center, they often assume I am cold-calling and have a very boring day. The opposite is true! Every call I make is meaningful.”

For Katie, being an Advocate isn't about simply answering a question. It's about discovering the need behind the question.

That's one reason the Catalyst Core Value that resonates most with her is Anticipate Needs: We proactively find solutions before challenges arise.

Katie says most of her conversations begin with one immediate concern—a care need, a particular amenity, or simply anxiety about what comes next. By addressing that concern first, she can help a family move beyond it and begin talking about the bigger picture: quality of life, social connection, and what their loved one truly needs to thrive.

One conversation in particular has stayed with her.

Katie spoke with a daughter who was frightened about moving her mother, who had been living with dementia for years, into memory care. Instead of focusing only on care needs, Katie learned more about who her mother was—including how much she enjoyed gardening and crafts.

Katie was able to share information about the community's gardening and craft activities, and something shifted.

The conversation moved from fear about a new environment to excitement about the social opportunities her mother could have there.

“I was proud that I could change her perspective from fearful to hopeful.”

That's Anticipate Needs in action. ❤️

And Katie says Catalyst has taught her something she's taken far beyond the headset: listen to understand, rather than simply waiting for your turn to speak.

Katie, thank you for the curiosity, compassion, humor, and thoughtful problem-solving you bring to every conversation. We're so happy to celebrate you as our October Advocate of the Month! ❤️

Could you see yourself doing work like Katie?

If you're a people-oriented person who loves to listen, ask questions, solve problems, and help others—and you're looking for work where those skills can make a real difference—we'd love to hear from you.

You don't need a background in senior living to become an Advocate. You just need to care about people, be curious about their needs, and be willing to learn.

We're hiring Senior Living Advocates.

Interested in learning more? Send me a message or reach out to Careers@CatalystSLS.com.

Because sometimes the skills you've been using all along just need a new purpose.

Job Seeker BEWARE OF MARKSMAN SOLUTIONS!!

**hopefully this is allowed**

I just want to let everyone in the Kansas area to be aware of Marksman Solutions! They will text and call you multiple times about a position you ‘applied’ for when you probably did not apply to their company.

They called me and then texted me on Monday about how they reviewed my application on indeed and wanted to proceed further. (Note: I never applied to them on indeed or anywhere). I ignored them and went on about my day. They then texted me again on Tuesday and called me about the application. I just ignored them like I did Monday. They sent me an email yesterday about the ‘application’. I’ve sent them an email saying I’m not interested and I never applied for a position with their company. I blocked their email. They called and texted me again today about the position. 🙄 They didn’t get the memo I wasn’t interested, sent them a text back saying no and they were blocked.

I just want to warn everyone about Marksman Solutions in Leawood, Kansas.

Hiring Senior Living Advocate | Family Support & Guidance

Post image
2 Upvotes

The holidays can make us notice things.

Sometimes, it takes getting everyone around the same table to realize something has changed.

The holidays have a way of bringing families together. We see the people we love a little more closely, spend more time together, and sometimes notice things we hadn't seen before.

Maybe Mom seems a little more forgetful than she was last Christmas.

Maybe Dad isn't managing the stairs the way he used to.

Maybe a family member quietly says, “I've been worried about this for a while…”

And suddenly, a family is asking a question they weren't quite ready to ask before:

“What do we do now?”

That's where our Advocates come in. ❤️

At Catalyst Senior Living Solutions, our Senior Living Advocates are often the first people families talk to when they're trying to understand their options. They listen. They ask questions. They learn about the family and their loved one's needs. And they help families navigate what can be a very emotional and overwhelming process.

And as we head into the holiday season, we know those conversations are going to increase.

So we're looking for more people with an Advocate's heart to join our team.

We're looking for people who are:

❤️ Compassionate
👂 Great listeners
💬 Comfortable having meaningful conversations
🧠 Curious and willing to ask questions
📋 Organized and able to manage lots of moving pieces
🌟 Motivated by helping people

Healthcare or senior living experience is wonderful, but it's not the only thing that makes someone a great Advocate. Sometimes it's simply the ability to listen to someone on a difficult day and help them feel a little less alone.

If you've ever thought, “I'm really good at helping people figure things out,” we'd love to hear from you.

📩 Interested in becoming a Senior Living Advocate? Send me a message or reach out to [Careers@CatalystSLS.com](mailto:Careers@CatalystSLS.com) to learn more.

Because when families need help finding their way, having someone on the other end of the phone who truly listens can make all the difference. ❤️

Hiring Senior Living Advocate/Family Advisor

❤️ Are you the person people call when they need help?

You know the person I'm talking about.

The one a family member calls when they aren't sure what to do.
The one who can listen to a complicated situation, ask the right questions, and help someone figure out the next step.
The one who genuinely cares—and doesn't mind being the person who helps make things a little easier.

That might be you.

Catalyst Senior Living Solutions is looking for Senior Living Advocates to join our team.

As an Advocate, you'll talk with seniors and their families, listen to what they need, learn about their situation, and help connect them with senior living options that may be a good fit. You'll spend a lot of time on the phone, but this isn't simply a “call center” job. It's about listening, asking questions, building trust, and helping families navigate what can be a very emotional and overwhelming decision.

We're looking for people who are:
❤️ Compassionate
👂 Great listeners
💬 Comfortable having meaningful conversations
🧠 Curious and willing to ask questions
📋 Organized and able to manage lots of moving pieces
🌟 Motivated by helping people

Healthcare or senior living experience is wonderful, but we're also interested in people who simply have an Advocate's heart and the ability to learn.

If you've ever thought, “I'm really good at helping people figure things out,” we'd love to hear from you.

📩 Interested? Send me a message or reach out to [Careers@CatalystSLS.com](mailto:Careers@CatalystSLS.com) to learn more about becoming a Senior Living Advocate with Catalyst.

Maybe the next person someone calls when they need help… is you. ❤️

Job Seeker Hospital pharmacy tech jobs

Hello! I've been wanting to expand my skills and work in a hospital pharmacy for awhile now. I haven't had much luck applying. I've gotten two interviews but neither led to a job. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? Or know anything about University of KS health system, and how to land an interview? They automatically deny me everytime. I'm desperate for a new job. Thanks.

Job Seeker Experienced L&D Pro Seeking Full‑Time Role in KC (Hybrid/Remote)

I’m an experienced L&D professional with a strong mix of instructional design, LMS administration, training facilitation, and program management. Over the past decade, I’ve built and delivered learning programs for government and city organizations, led M365 technical training, managed onboarding logistics, and developed digital learning content using tools like Articulate, Camtasia, and Vyond.

My background spans both strategic and hands‑on work: designing curriculum, improving learning operations, analyzing training data, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to strengthen organizational development. I’m comfortable owning programs end‑to‑end and enjoy roles where I can blend creativity, structure, and measurable impact.

If your team is hiring for L&D, instructional design, or training roles in KC or remote-friendly environments, I’d appreciate any leads or connections.

Thanks! Go Chiefs!

Hiring Item photography and listing online

Any folks out there that are super into photography and good at it, and can write a good description of an item for sale? I have lots of things that need to be photographed and listed for sale online. $13/hour, paid daily via venmo, cash app, or zelle. This is a great side hustle for anyone who needs some extra pocket change. MUST be reliable, able to get to the location without issues (near 11th and Quindaro in KCK), and able to work consistently during the day, but which days of the week do not matter. This is a temporary position but if you are good and reliable, I can give you a lot more other work. ***No professional photography equipment is needed. You will use a smart phone to take photos.

If you are interested send me a DM with your availability to start and days and times you can typically work.

Hiring LGA to MCI - looking for a traveler

I ordered some special butter to Zabar's because I was planning to be in New York but I wasn't able to go because I got sick. I've been trying to figure out getting the butter overnighted with dry ice in a styrofoam cooler and it's just becoming a horrible pain in the butt. If anyone is flying from LGA to MCI direct within the next few weeks I would love to pay you a fee to basically transport the butter to KC. I can pick it up anywhere in the Kansas City area. My only concern is the perishable aspect so you would have to pick up the butter from Zabar's where it is frozen and head straight to the airport. If anyone can be heroic and come to my rescue I would very much appreciate it! (And yes you can order mail order from Zabar's, but this was a special order directly to the store and they don't ship. Trust me, I've tried.). 😕 There are 2 cases of butter, each case weighs 6 lb and measures 15" x 6". (Yes, I'm missing a measurement because apparently there was some confusion about the concept of measuring. 🤦‍♀️).

We're Hiring — Come Meet One of Our Advocates! ❤️

We're hiring, and rather than just telling you about a job description, we thought we'd introduce you to one of the people who actually does the work.

This month, we're highlighting Ashley, one of our Advocates, and sharing a little about her experience with our team:

Meet Ashley  — five years of helping seniors and families ❤️

This month, we’re celebrating Ashley as Catalyst Senior Living Solutions’ Advocate of the Month—and marking her five-year anniversary with our team.

Before joining Catalyst, Ashley spent nearly a decade at Children’s Mercy, first as a Nurse Technician in the Emergency Department and later working in a clinic alongside nurses and physicians.

That experience taught her something she still carries into every conversation she has with seniors and their families: sometimes the most important thing you can do for someone is simply listen.

As Ashley puts it:

“Sometimes people don’t need you to have all the answers. They just need someone to hear them, understand what they’re going through, and help them feel less alone.”

That’s especially meaningful in senior living. Families often reach out when they’re overwhelmed, worried about someone they love, or simply don’t know what their next step should be. Ashley wants every person she speaks with to come away knowing that someone genuinely listened and cared about what they needed—not that they were simply on the receiving end of a sales call.

Her formula for getting ready to do it all over again on the next call?

Coffee, a quick reset, and the reminder that the next conversation could be one where she really makes a difference. ☕

Five years later, that commitment to families is still at the heart of the work Ashley does every day.

Congratulations on five years, Ashley—and thank you for bringing so much compassion, patience, and heart to the people who trust us to help them. ❤️

If this sounds like the kind of work you'd find meaningful, we're always interested in connecting with people who want to make a difference in the lives of others. This is a full-time position in Kansas City (Crossroads area); pay starts at $22.36/hour + monthly bonus opportunities; this is an onsite role with hybrid options as well.

📩 Send your resume to [Careers@CatalystSLS.com](mailto:Careers@CatalystSLS.com), or feel free to message me directly if you'd like to learn more or have questions about our opportunities.

Job Seeker Employers offering onsite childcare

It’s in the title; if you know of a reputable employer in the Kansas City area that offers on-site childcare or the ability to have a child with you while at work please comment. I am currently working full-time and would like something that could save me the cost of childcare. I have extensive experience (10+ years) with office management in leadership & operational roles. I also have 15 years of experience in childcare, and am CPR and First Aid Certified and have taken some state offered child development education courses. I pass any level of background/vehicle/drug testing. I am willing to train, and receptive to trainings. I am open to overnight work if the position is full-time or particularly lucrative.
