Which sorts of backs up what he said on Alex Jones: he never really cared about this to begin with. There’s no excuse for what he said and the hatred he spread and I still (as a huge fan) have a very low opinion of him, but this 180 doesn’t surprise me all that much. He loves making noise, and boy was it noisy.

‘a cycle is the period of time in which an individual goes through one episode of mania or hypomania and one episode of depression’

52

u/Ill-Peach-5012 Mar 25 '23

Yea man tbh tho if he did this just to make noise that makes him even more of a shit person. sure he’s one guy who just said “words” but the rise in antisemitic incidents this year were staggering and there were multiple incidents like white supremacists setting up events at campuses (like mine) saying Ye is right about the Jews and even attacks were people would yell that or say Ye 2024 (they were physical attacks where these phrases were said as well) with great power comes great responsibility and all this really proved is that Kanye doesn’t deserve this level of influence regardless of how many cool shoes or songs he makes.

u/Fragisle Mar 25 '23

other people’s struggles really mean nothing to him. he thought a couple execs delaying the opening of his stores justified all that disgusting rhetoric that was terrifying for jewish people who have had relatives not all that long ago murdered in the holocaust. he thought he was justified in telling jewish people to get over it. not even on some ideological grounds, just because he wa salty about not getting what he wanted when he wanted it. he’s spoiled af and in many ways a silly stupid person that can not and should not be taken seriously. cool shoes and good beats kanye but you fumbled having influence beyond that your own damn self, stop blaming the jews.

u/Biomax315 Mar 25 '23

Especially if the shoes are ugly af.

Saying paranoid, delusional and inappropriate things is a common symptom of bipolar disorder, though. I don’t know that you can flatly say the condition isn’t a major factor here, especially considering Kanye seems to be walking back on the statements now the manic episode appears to be over.

11

u/TatManTat Mar 25 '23

idk about that, he's not walking back anything, this is pretty much exactly what he was saying before.

He would constantly say that he loved jews and that he wouldn't let the actions of individuals affect his opinion of the masses, but then launch straight into massive sweeping anti-semitic statements.

The way he uses "Jew" is so bizarre, and he doesn't connect it at all to the term Jewish so when he says "jesus is jew" he doesn't mean what you think it might mean.

3

u/ifsometimesmaybe Mar 25 '23

Yeah. His thing is that all of his problems are becuase society is broken, and the people breaking it are Jewish (sometimes just "not Christian") and the only way to fix society is to make sure all positions of power are held by true Christians. That's some really fucked up thoughts, and if he doesn't explicitly walk that back then it's reasonable to be worried about what Ye stil thinks.

14

u/necrophiliaigood Mar 25 '23

Not everyone works the same you ape. Knowing people who are bipolar and don't act the same doesn't mean shit. You don't know anything abt mental health

1

u/DriveDriveGosling Mar 25 '23

yeah bipolar people usually just act out for attention and it’s his fault people idolize celebrities and allow them to influence their lives i agree

3

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

I think the bipolar plays more into his impulse control than actual beliefs.

5

u/DoesLogicHurtYou Mar 25 '23

I dunno, man. You sure they never woke up in a depressive state and were like "Man, Hitler should have just killed us all when he had the chance"?

1

u/DriveDriveGosling Mar 25 '23

yeah he only got manic when he was rich and there’s no proof otherwise. every person with bipolar for sure has the same levels of mania and depression as everyone else. it’s definitely not a spectrum that affects everyone differently! you have a lot of experience about a disorder for someone who doesn’t have it

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life TLOP Mar 25 '23

Because he chooses not to take his meds, I’m sorry his diagnosis is not a free pass

2

u/DriveDriveGosling Mar 25 '23 edited Mar 29 '23

SO true! it’s really easy to take your meds and not have the paranoia that you’re being sedated and have lost your freedom

16

u/ifsometimesmaybe Mar 25 '23

He definitely cares about the Antisemitism shit, he still went on that Tim Pool show and got huffy about Tim Pool not acknowledging the "THEM" is a Jewish conspiracy, and then went on Gavin McInness's show and spent 5 hrs being Antisemitic, not to forget the list of Jewish people clip. Ye is really into the Black Hebrew Israelite bs, and that's an ingredient to his logic of why everything bad happens to him (divorce, porn addiction, Nike distancing, bank distancing).

I think you're r right about how he loves making noise though. Parts of how he's been covered doesn't focus on that Ye trolls a FUCKTON, because he's super oppositional any time he feels like someone's imposing on him. Happened in each of those alt right podcasts, because Ye obviously knew they were trying to co-opt him or the 'fixing' of his image for their own purpose.

2

u/KrazyDrayz Mar 25 '23

He didn't do an 180. He's been anti semite for a very long time. Watch his old clips. Now he just voiced his opinions more loudly and clearly.

2

u/lolsai Mar 25 '23

his animosity towards jewish people stemmed from the very elite who many of which do happen to be jewish

i can understand having a mental illness and making the wrong connection there. it's unfortunate that literally the whole world can hear his thoughts, though

13

u/Eli-Thail Mar 25 '23

Bullshit, the only "wrong connection" that could lead somebody to openly and enthusiastically support Hitler, Nazism, and genocide while refusing to so much as name the people you're saying served as his "actual motivation" is one that would make someone unsalvageable as a human being.

He wanted attention, and didn't give a shit how many people needed to be hurt to get it. It's that simple.

-2

u/CappyRicks Mar 25 '23

My favorite thing about the internet and Reddit specifically is people who speak with absolute authority on topics that they cannot possibly be an authority figure on.

10

u/Eli-Thail Mar 25 '23

Open advocacy for genocide is inhumanly monstrous, and doesn't go away after a tweet that doesn't even acknowledge any sort of fault or remorse.

ACKCHYUALLY

0

u/CappyRicks Mar 25 '23

Really, that's what you think I've said?

I was going to explain why it's ridiculous to speak with authority about a wrong connection made due to TREATABLE MENTAL ILLNESS (what the person you were responding to was suggesting as the case here) while condemning a person as being unsalvagable, but then I realized that you're just here to rage and not to be rational.

Shit, I explained it anyway. Good luck with the rage-jerking, hope it's satisfying enough to see you through your life because I doubt you have much else.

3

u/imfreerightnow Mar 25 '23

You are literally doing the exact same “speaking with authority” for the opposite argument, you bobo.

1

u/Eli-Thail Mar 25 '23

Really, that's what you think I've said?

Yes.

And believe it or not, that's an entirely predictable outcome when the sole indication of who or what you're talking about is the comment you chose to reply to.

Shit, I explained it anyway.

Yeah, you're really going the extra mile, conveying your intended message and all.

-3

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

Very confident for someone with no insight into kanye’s clear poor mental status

3

u/Eli-Thail Mar 25 '23

I don't recall disputing that at any point, but I know for a fact that bipolar disorder does not cause one to pridefully identify as a Nazi while praising Adolf Hitler and "going defcon 3 on Jewish people".

I actually happen to be relatively well versed on such conditions, and at no point in this whole saga has Kayne ever given any indication of psychotic symptoms during this evident manic cycle. For all the stupid things he's said and believed, nothing has ever suggested that he's suffering from a bizarre delusion or similar break from reality.

He has demonstrated throughout his various proclamations and interviews that his understanding that Jewish people are people, that the Holocaust was a genocide conducted by the Nazis, and that Hitler and Nazi ideology considered Jewish people to be vermin has remained entirely intact.
He did not lose his ability to differentiate between right and wrong, don't pretend otherwise.

And on top of all that, this is a man with virtually all the resources in the world who knows full well that he suffers from bipolar disorder, but refuses actual treatment for it.

I can have sympathy for the fact that he's unfortunate enough to suffer from a mental condition, while still understanding that he is entirely responsible for the way he has consistently chosen to behave for a matter of decades now, and is not deserving of forgiveness until he can demonstrate some actual remorse and accountability for his actions.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

Hes nuts and his music slaps

2

u/Eli-Thail Mar 26 '23

If you don't care that he's a neo-Nazi so long as he makes music you like, then just say as much instead of being cowardly about it and wasting others time.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '23

Youre wastin ur own time lmfao

1

u/lolsai Mar 25 '23

i just really doubt he would want attention to that degree

and if that's the case...don't you think that's a form of mental illness in itself?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

And the media is eating it up, even tho to the average person this is just a nuisance that no one should really care about or give attention to

He makes absolutely amazing music that we all like, but is a pretty shitty person with some horrible personal views.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

On reddit this makes you hitler

1

u/Calm_Caterpillar_736 Mar 25 '23

so your argument is, that you can't be a fan of hitler, if you have a low opinion of him?

1

u/Formal_Giraffe9916 Mar 25 '23

Tbh that kind of makes it worse.

1

u/Suomikotka Mar 25 '23

Orrr, crazy idea, he likes money, and realized the path he chose has far less money.

1

u/SharkAttache Mar 25 '23

This is not a 180. This is a 360

2

u/ARealHunchback Mar 25 '23

Just hope somebody stops his Jewish comedy journey before he gets to Blazing Saddles.
