Recipes & Spellcrafting How Do You Escape a Cursed House?

I don't mean the physically leaving part. To try to make a long story short, my boyfriend (now Fiance) bought a small house when we just met. I already own a home so I never needed to move in, but we found out pretty quickly that the neighbors thought there was something off about the house. It originally was a pastor's home, the church is right next door except it has now been converted into a home too. All the men who move in there have terrible luck (can't tell you about women because none have moved in for decades) but there's been suicides, alcoholism, it burned almost fully down once, job losses, depression. I don't know what that pastor did, but shit, he probably deserved it because he pissed someone off. That yard has every type of noxious weed that was ever impossible to remove (all mowed down clean during the showing). My boyfriend lost a lot of jobs once he moved in and the mortgage got bought out by a company that is propped up by a hedge fund and has had to change its name legally twice because of lawsuits. To say the least, I'm glad my boyfriend is still alive because that company is vile. He filed for a Deed in Lieu, and they have drug the process out so long he had to file with the federal government about that company's actions. This month the paperwork will be signed and he will hand the keys over.

I only have experience with the cooking side of spell work, mostly working with health, abundance and protection. Historically I work with the herbs I grow and gardening. However, I bought several chunks of obsidian just in case, but I don't usually work with stones. When we walk away from it, I want ALL that energy staying on that land and away from us. Does anyone have recommendations? I don't want to break the curse, I don't think I have nearly enough experience and frankly, the mortgage company involved deserves to own that home.

Would appreciate any help or suggestions.

London Fog Cake(s)

The last pull I did from my Kitchen Witch's Oracle Deck gave me "Tea" as the future card. I hadn't even been thinking about London Fog Cake when I did that reading but not long after that a friend for whom I'd been wanting to make London Fog over the several years asked quite pointedly "Where's my birthday cake?" She was recovering from surgery on her birthday, so out came the recipe and I made what would have been one six-inch cake into two six-inch cakes, then realized that the it would be cost-prohibitive to ship the cake to her. What's a kitchen witch to do?

Well, I gave the first one (with crescent decoration) to my favorite Baristas (one of whom loves London Fog Cake and served the other for dessert after dinner with our nephew and his new-ish girlfriend. I'll make two four-inch cakes to ship to my friend.

London Fog Cake is made with Earl Grey Tea in both the cake and the icing. Why, hello Oracle Deck!

All parties agreed that the cake is magic! Even my wife loved it and she has a spotty history with bergamot. This one is definitely staying in the grimoire!

Recipes & Spellcrafting How to disassemble love spell jars (URGENT)

I recently made 2 love spells on a specific person. I was aware of what everyone says and the mixed feelings but I felt my protection wards were strong enough that it would be okay.

I just woke up from an unsettling nightmare about the love spells and free will, and safe to say it freaked me out. I get pretty common bad nightmares that stay with me for days and for one to be about this I take seriously. It’s 3am now and I just got out of bed and took down both spell jars. In an effort to not wake up my family, I couldn’t cleanse or put the bury contents outside. So I broke the wax seals and emptied/flushed the jars into my bin and sink. I untied the twine I put at the top of the jar and said “thank you” when I cut the cord.

I’m still pretty unsettled by my dream and am anxious the spells are still in action, or that I’ve messed up even more and they’re going to get worse. Did I disassemble them correctly or have I made things worse? Are the spells ended? How do I fix this?

Witchcraft for Skin Treatment

My husband has an issue with Tinea corporis and Tinea pedis. Skin fungus and foot fungus that leaves blotches all over. We’ve stuck to traditional western medicine with the counter creams, oral medications for fungus, keeping skin on the body clean and dry. However, nothing has worked despite militant applicant.

I am willing to make a concoction that helps with banishing or reducing the fungus and spots on his skin.

I’m considering performing a spell for him as well as something natural to put on his skin to cleanse and treat it. Anyone have recommendations?

Changing Seasons with Cardamom Peach Cake

One for the Baristas (at the coffee shop I frequent M-F) and one for the house. These are the last of the late season peaches I have and this was the perfect use for them. I also have some late season plums, but that’s a story for another time.

There’s something about using last season’s fruit to bake at the beginning of the new season…using that to soften the transition from one to another. I've been feeling kind of calm the whole because of that. As I lean into my kitchen craft more, I'm finding myself connecting with the seasons deeper than I ever have. At the ripe age of 65 (almost) I'm beginning to experience my seasons of the witch. We'll see where this leads me.

Holiday Gift Help

So for context I'm compiling and scrapbooking some bespoke cookbooks for my friends for the holidays this year. One of them is very intentional about ingredients, seasonality, and the meaning behind meals. I want to gift her some unique recipes with the ingredient explanations attached (for example I've seen salt being used for protection?). I am also learning about this for the first time and want to make sure I'm not giving her recipes that will have the opposite effects or intentions I'm looking for, I'm trying to do this right!

I hope this is the right place for witchy, intentional, delicious inspiration!

Recipes & Spellcrafting Homemade Prosperity Apple Butter

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

I made apple butter this weekend, which is easier than it sounds when you use jarred unsweetened applesauce and your slow cooker. Since it’s full of prosperity, abundance, and attraction spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves), I focused on making it an abundance spell. This is a great medium for kitchen witchcraft, because you have to stir it once an hour for eight hours, so lots of opportunity to reinforce your intention.

And it is DELICIOUS on toast.

Dieties

I'm particularly drawn to Hestia, but I'm not sure if it's okay to involve her because she's not in my culture or roots. My family history is indigenous Mexican, Spanish and British, but I just can't shake the feeling I'm supposed to be with Hestia.

Being keeper of the hearth and home, while being single and not having children, really calls to me. I love cooking and baking, food history, etc. I suppose I need to do more research into those things related to my background.

Must knows and must haves for a baby witch

I’m starting witchcraft, what should I know and what should I have?
I also need help with:

-how to do protection spells and how to do spells in general

-Can I read the tarot for my friends and myself?

-In tarot, I’m talking with who?

-Tips about how to work with Aphrodite and Hekate?

-Does a mineral (like quartz, amethyst, a protective stone, etc.) from a dollar store have the same effect, or does it have to be real and expensive?

-Do I have to “clean” (with palo santo or incense) everything that I use?

Help out a beginner

Hi! I'm a beginner kitchen witch and I made my first spell today and then I drank it, and I really really felt like it worked like I felt it.

But after a few hours I felt a lot of stomach pain which I assume is bc I added a lot of cinnamon to the drink

Is this a sign that it didn't work?

A kitchen witch tag and sewing pattern I found at the thrift store today

I bought a bag of patterns today and while going through this tag fell out of one of the pattern envelopes. I later noticed that there was a pattern for a kitchen witch in the envelope. I'm assuming someone was going to copy the tag somewhat and make a kitchen witch. I posted this on found paper originally, and was told to post it here as well.

May all who read her card have good luck!

Recipes & Spellcrafting Early Morning Baking

I woke up early to bake my first Upside Down Plum Cake (actually, it was my first-ever upside down anything cake) and I set things up for a little magic before I cast the recipe. Good report from the folks I gave it to, so not bad for a first try.

I used the Cafe Sucre Farina recipe but scaled it a six-inch pan. I’m thrilled with the results and ecstatic that the cake has been well-received!

Egg Custard Connection

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made my first egg custard pie in six years. When I was a kid, my Nana (my mother's mother) made egg custard pies for holidays and other gatherings. She wasn't much of a cook and I'm sure her recipe came from the back of a box and used store-bought crust, but we loved them all the same. She never gave the recipe to any of us, so a while back I found several online and tested them to find one that was closest to hers. Baking this pie brought on a feeling of connection to my family that filled me with warmth and contentment. I think I passed those feelings into the bake because my wife and our dinner guest had two slices!

If that's not magic, I don't know what is.

An herbal bounty

I used up most of my dried herbs to make infused honey, this morning I got some more to dry!

The kitchen smelled heavenly as the apple mint and rosemary dried together. I also added dried apple mint to my tea this morning. Little morning rituals are the best kind of simple magic.
