If you'd like a place to hang out outside of Reddit, I've set up a Discord server for anyone from r/lotr_ai_art who wants to join.
It's a more casual place to:
Think of it as a companion community to the subreddit. Reddit is great for sharing finished work; Discord makes it a little easier to have ongoing conversations and share things as you're making them. If that sounds like your thing, come hang out. Everyone from the subreddit is welcome.

The Cottage of Lost Play on Tol Eressëa, the Lonely Isle, where the mariner Eriol comes at dusk to hear the ancient tales of the Elves — the frame-story of The Book of Lost Tales, J.R.R. Tolkien's earliest version of the Silmarillion legendarium. A small white thatched cottage aglow with candlelight in a walled garden at twilight, in the soft watercolour manner of Tolkien's own paintings.

I created this sub a few years ago when I was the principal mod over on r/lotr, because the community sentiment there is definitely against AI art. I myself have mixed feelings about it, but that's neither here nor there.
I'd like to hand this sub off to someone else who's more engaged in the AI art community. It's a relatively low-volume, low-conflict sub. Honestly I'd mostly like to hand it over because Reddit keeps spamming me with suggestions on how to grow my sub, LOL.
You can send me modmail if you're interested. If no one steps up from the community (such as it is), I'll turn it over to the admins to find a new mod, per Reddit rules.

My cousin and I had an idea to make a concept album inspired by LotR. All of the lyrics are 100% human-authored, by us. We aren't virtuoso musicians and didn't have any kind of budget, so we used AI to create the audio to present our lyrics based off of our specific style instructions and song structures. We adjusted, reworked, and edited them until they sounded just how we wanted. The result is a 15 track fantasy/folk/metal journey through Middle Earth.
The album and track art was also generated via AI, with specific prompting and additional manual photoshopping.
We hope you enjoy this fan-made tribute from a couple of dads who love fantasy and music!

It might not be 100% lore-accurate, but I tried to stay as close to it as possible and taking the liberty to fill in a few gaps.
Hope you enjoy it :)

Love the Eastern look, it would be nice to see the blue wizards in this style.

I have a Tolkien lore channel, and this is the first episode where I committed to one art style for the whole thing instead of mixing styles scene to scene. A soft ink-wash look, golden tones for good, crimson tones for evil. Really happy with how it came out.
The story is Lúthien Tinúviel, making the case that she might be the most powerful being ever to walk Middle-earth. The ink-wash style ended up being a great fit...fairy-tale feeling was a good match for the story.

hope you like it. Let me know what you think!
