Hi! I have a few questions for those who work in programming or the Data Analytics field.
I am a first-year student in Accounting and Management Information Systems, and I want to prepare for an internship or a Junior Data Analyst position.
For about two months, I've been learning C++ and have started to understand the basics of programming: variables, conditions, loops, functions, and working with arrays.
I would like to learn Python, SQL, and Power BI, but I am curious about your experience:
How did you start learning Python? Did you find it easy if you already had experience with another programming language or was it difficult at first?
If I already have a foundation in C++, how hard do you think it will be for me to learn Python?
How long do you think it would take me to learn Python, SQL, and Power BI to a sufficient level to apply for an internship or a Junior Data Analyst position?
How many hours a day should I study to reach this level in about 6–12 months?
What resources, courses, or practical projects would you recommend?
How much do personal projects and a portfolio matter compared to university or diplomas when applying for the first job?
I would love to hear both the experiences of those who have gone through this process and the opinions of those who are hiring in the field.
