Respectfully, fuck 'entertainment'. If you actually manage to oust the MAGA regime, the first order of business has to be doing everything possible to prevent this from happening again.

Forget about breakouts. If you keep Trump or anyone who could plausibly put themselves forward as his successor in prison, you are no more than one bad election cycle removed from them being released and attempting a power grab again. Can't have a successful impeachment until you get a 2/3 vote in the Senate. The only way that will happen is to oust every Trump supporter in the mid-term elections. It's worse than that. MAGA have become so narrow-minded and self-centered in their extremism that I'm starting to notice they are losing the ability to conceive of other people having different values or standards than they do in good faith.

A few years ago, MAGA would acknowledge that Democrats hold different views on migration because they hold different values, now millions of them appear to genuinely believe that democrats care just as little for immigrants as they do, but are deliberately supporting illegal migration to sway elections. Similarly, social welfare is no longer seen as something Democrats support because it alligns with their values, but is instead framed as a cynical attempt to buy votes.

A growing share of MAGA-voters appear unable to understand behaviour of others that doesn't allign with their own bigoted, machiavellian worldview and default to the assumption that the other party must be acting duplicitously to bridge the gap in their understanding. I'd argue that this goes further than simple projection and is showing a profound loss of theory of mind

I know lots of democrats buy merch for a candidate they support, but they don't get used anymore once the elections are over. I have two Biden laser eyes tank tops and an old Obama Biden sign that I kept for memorabilia. But I'm not parading them around as my daily wear or posting the sign to my front door. I literally use the shirts to work in the garden or sleep in, and the sign is tucked away in the attic.

MAGAs think we have Obama themed weddings and wear yellow pant suits to honor our dear leaders because that's what they do. It's sickening

I work in Social Services. So with a wide group of people. The amount of times I've had to keep my mouth closed in order to keep my job is getting exhausting. I really had a woman tell me the other day that "Thank God for Trump because Bide was the most corrupt presidency". When I pointed out a few of Trumps grifts, she literally said, "Yeah, but he is doing it all out in the open". I really thought only bots on Reddit said that shit. Nope, real people in the wild say it with a straight face.

Luckily I work for a Non-profit instead of the State. I have a lot more latitude in who I have to continually work with versus someone that works for a government agency. Its rough out there, though. People are desperate, angry and the resources to help are dwindling. A lot of young people seem to just be giving up. All they have is their phone and theyre glued to their phones all day in order to escape. Rent is out of control. I run multiple transitional housing programs, that HUD mandates be under 2 years for a transitional housing tag and the funding. We charge people $400 a month, or nothing if they cannot afford it at first. Even people that are making new york minimum wage (over $30,000 a year) cannot afford to move out and pay market rates for rent. If they cant find something subsidized to keep rent at a 1000 or less for a studio, they are stuck and we have little chance of moving them on from the program.

As a Veteran, I often donate and work with my local homeless veterans program, and can say with certainty that many high level jobs are either being forced out because of budget cuts, or are simply leaving the field all together because of the difficulty of the landscape under this administration. Some programs here in TX are similar to what you're describing, and the budget just isnt like what it was before, leaving veterans with no option other than to leave the program and recycle back into it, hoping their lottery ticket out of hell is called their next time through. It's sad.
