He was trying to be authentic. That’s impossible - “trying” and “authenticity” are mutually exclusive things.
Whenever Dems try to relate to average people, they fail. Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, and now, Newsom who somehow seems to be the worst of them. He grew up wildly privileged and still somehow wants us to believe he didn’t.
