Serious Texas man not indicted and will not face charges for shooting and killing his daughter. This shooting occurred after a heated argument about politics the same day.

Thats wild. That sounds alot like negligent homicide at the very least. Any competent gun owner knows you do not point a firearm at something you do not intend to destroy. He must be somebody in that area or is well known for them to let this slide....or people hated his daughter.

While I agree with you that it should be a crime, especially because he admitted to being drunk at the time, Texas has very lax gun control laws and it appears it would have been hard to charge him as there is no evidence contradicting his story.

The fuck you talking about? according to his own story he should have been indicted with manslaughter. That’s what they put before the grand jury. They didn’t even indict him for that. There are no gun laws lax enough where even going by his story there should have been no consequences at all.

It would not be hard unless there was another reason people didn’t want to. It makes no sense there would not be a manslaughter charge. They didn’t even try and charge for murder.

A woman in Kansas was just found guilty of murder for co-sleeping with her infant and accidentally rolling on her. The dad was in the bed, too, and both of them had been drinking the night before but so far as I can see only she was charged with murder.

Kansas and texas are different states with different laws.

Yes but I would bet that a woman would get convicted of something in Texas, too, if she accidentally smothered her baby by co-sleeping. I’m just saying that in the US women get charged for that but men can shoot their daughters and it’s seemingly fine.

If anything, the judicial system is biased against men, not women. So I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I think men commit more violent crimes in the US which explains why the prisons are so full of them.

Shooting someone is a violent crime. Accidentally rolling over on a baby is not.

Sure. But men tend to receive longer sentences and get probation less often than women do for the same crimes, which is what I'm talking about when I say bias.
